NV has recently published a list of “People of the Decade,” which includes the Hero of Ukraine and honorary citizen of Mykolaiv, NIBULON’s founder, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
The number of his achievements for the benefit of Ukraine over the past ten years could constitute the agenda of several lifetimes for other people.
Among them are the launch of navigation on the Dnipro and the Southern Buh, the creation of a network of river terminals connected logistically by a modern fleet. To build it, Vadaturskyy revived a neglected shipbuilding and shiprepair yard, turning it into an island of hope for a strong maritime state.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Vadaturskyy donated UAH 100 million in the country’s healthcare sector, having implemented 4 large-scale charity projects in Mykolaiv hospitals.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Vadaturskyy provided his barges to block the potential approach of the enemy to Mykolaiv by water.
As a true leader, Vadaturskyy influenced the world by touching the souls of the people around him.
His recognition in the ranking demonstrates that the memory of this outstanding Mykolaiv resident lives on, as it has a glorious continuation in his business.
The renaming of Falieievska Street to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy Street in Mykolaiv should also become a fitting tribute to his memory, as this is where the Hero of Ukraine began the journey of NIBULON.
Mykhailo Falieiev developed Mykolaiv and built a fleet in the interests of the Russian Empire. In modern history, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy played a key role in the development of independent Ukraine. This fundamental difference between the two figures makes the renaming of the street highly symbolic and pays tribute to the memory of the Hero of our independent Ukraine.
We remind you that voting in Mykolaiv is still ongoing. You can support the initiative to rename Falieievska Street in honor of Oleksiy Vadaturskyy in two ways:
