The cross-cutting theme of the 59th Munich Security Conference was the aggression of the RF as well as political and military support of our country. During the events, Andriy Vadaturskyy stressed that the Russian aggression aimed to destroy private business in Ukraine. The imbalance of international support is in that while the state sector receives significant assistance, business survival remains out of sight. Though, the latter plays an important role in keeping economic stability in Ukraine.By NIBULON’s example, Andriy Vadaturskyy explained possible threats when the problems of Ukrainian business are ignored. According to Vadaturskyy, the world should be aware of grain shortage, which can be faced in a year. “All the interested parties are now making efforts to export grain grown in 2021 and influence world food crisis. The biggest problem is that Ukraine will grow by 30-40 million tons less in 2023. It is not so easy to cover this shortage globally. Believe me, you will not concerned about the price but the absence of offer as such”, he addressed the conference participants. “Ukrainian agrarians need three things from the international community. The first one is to support creditors during the war; the second one is to finance business/bank sector directly that can be solved by providing guarantees as to the military risks from G7 and international financial institutions; the third one is to arrange assistance in demining agricultural lands and return these territories for agrarian production”, mentioned Andriy Vadaturskyy. The attention to the problems of Ukrainian business paid by the leading financial institutions, such as DEG and its CEO, as well as efforts made by all the German politicians to draw attention to these problems are extremely important not only to Ukraine but also to global food security. We hope that the call of the Ukrainian business was heard, and we are waiting for an appropriate decision to be made at the G7 summit.
