The training takes place within the scope of the project «Development of labor potential for Ukraine» of the Public Organization «International Development Foundation». Expanding the professional qualifications of the plant’s employees will allow SSY NIBULON to save jobs and diversify its activities. Experienced shipbuilders will acquire the qualification of train carriage and bridge construction workers, as long as their competences in the field of maritime complex are not fully demanded in the conditions of war due to russia’s blockade of the Black Sea ports. Training started in the middle of September and will continue until the middle of November. Shipbuilders are expected to study the types of wagons for transportation of grain and oil crops, their main characteristics and construction materials used in wagon construction. The team of SSY NIBULON will learn operational properties, construction of undercarriage, brakes etc. «Thanks to the training, our specialists will receive a thorough theoretical and practical basis, will be able to service the wagons, independently carry out repair works and maintain them in working condition throughout the entire period of operation», – says Bohdan Muzyka, Director of SSY NIBULON. Within the framework of the «AGRI Ukraine» initiative, the USAID Project «Economic Support of Ukraine» purchased 50 modern hopper wagons for NIBULON’s needs. «The use of these wagons already helps us to improve the economy of grain transportation. The cost of grain transportation with our own wagons is 31% lower than using the services of external operators, which allows us to offer better prices to farmers. Now, when the company will have its own service specialists, the total cost of their service will decrease, which will allow NIBULON to offer even more flexible conditions to farmers. In addition, the USAID Project helps NIBULON save jobs in 9 blocked river grain storages, in which additional costs for the transportation of grain to the nearest railway station occurred. To maintain the self-sufficiency of each such enterprise, it is necessary to transport more than 10 000 tons of grain per month from there, which ensures a continuous daily circulation of 50 wagons from them to Izmail. State-of-the-art hopper wagons, that our company has received, partially compensate for these additional costs and allow us to provide work for our employees in these difficult times», – says Mykhailo Rizak, Director on Government Relations and Sustainability of NIBULON. As was informed earlier, NIBULON also received weighing equipment for weighing road and railway transport from the USAID Project. The use of this equipment and hopper wagons will allow the agro-export company to increase the volume of grain transportation.
