Effective elevator management transcends merely technology and logistics; it revolves around precise processes, clear communication, and ongoing enhancement. This is why NIBULON actively adopts Lean management principles, emphasizing transparency, analytics, and rapid responses to deviations.
The adoption of visual management has been pivotal for enhancing operational cost control. Daily monitoring boards featuring key performance indicators (KPIs) have been established at the elevators. When discrepancies from the plan arise, data is supplemented with comments, facilitating swift and accurate identification of root causes and the initiation of improvement cycles through the A3 format.
Initial outcomes include:
- Enhanced transparency in cost management processes
- Reduced response times to issues
- Increased employee engagement in the improvement process.
Implementing Lean is not merely modifying internal processes; it’s already yielding noticeable economic advantages. Thanks to optimization, energy consumption has significantly decreased.
Given the market instability and a decline in processing volumes, equipment may not function at full capacity, presenting additional challenges. However, through Lean optimization, we’ve discovered innovative approaches for cost savings while fostering coordinated teamwork.
With Lean, we are not only reducing costs but also nurturing a culture of analytics, accountability, and collaboration. The next steps involve:
- Developing centralized analytics for monitoring deviations
- Training staff on Lean principles
- Further automating processes in the branches, specifically in expense control, grain tracking, time tracking, and efficiency, which will help cut costs and boost productivity.
