This year, the “NIBULON” celebrates its 18th anniversary! It is a birthday of the leader of the national grain market! Summing up the year results it is enjoyable to realize, that 2009 has become extremely successful. “NIBULON” is the only company with 100% of Ukrainian investments and it is a leader among the exporters of Ukrainian grain. In 2008/09 marketing year the company has exported 4.6 million tons of agricultural products. Thus “NIBULON” for four consecutive years headed the list in the category of “Grain trader of the year”. This marketing year Ukraine has shipped 6182 tons of food wheat, 25% (1 575.1 tons) of wheat was shipped by “NIBULON”. It means that one in four tons of wheat from Ukraine is shipped by “NIBULON”. And the total volume of wheat exports 76% is Ukrainian food wheat. The company exported food wheat in Jordan, Tunisia, Israel, Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Spain. Due to “NIBULON”, a company with vertically integrated structures, which owns the transshipment terminal and subsidiaries in Switzerland (NIBULON SA) and Holland (NIBULON TRADING BV), 40 agricultural companies in Ukraine this year have become exporters. During its eighteen-year history “NIBULON” invested in the agrarian sector of Ukraine more than 4 bln UAH. Financial results before taxation for nine months in 2009 is 489.8 million UHA. Level of the average salary of employees in Mykolayiv is more than 4.7 thousand UAH it is twice as much as the average level of the city, and in the regions over 1.9 thousand UAH that is almost twice as much as the average salary in the agricultural sector. As a result of the “TOP-500 companies of Central and Eastern Europe (2009)” that was conducted by an international audit company “Deloitte”, “NIBULON” took the 162nd place, thereby surpassing other agricultural enterprises of Ukraine and confirming the status of the leader in the national agricultural sector. As a result of the “TOP-100 largest companies in Ukraine” that was prepared on the basis of the 1st half of 2009 in terms of the amount of net income, “NIBULON” took the 24th place. Among agricultural companies – it is the first place! The company constantly improves its own elevator capacities. Currently the company has 1 million tons of built from scratch and put into operation new elevator capacities. In 2009, under support of the Head of the state Victor Yushchenko., the company implemented the project to revive Dnipro River as the main water way of Ukraine. The project in the value of USD 150 mln, includes building of 24 non-self-propelled river-sea barges with deadweight 108 thousand tons; construction and purchasing of 14 tugboats, construction of eight inland silos and river terminals. During the financial crisis, in record time, less than three months, two new inland silos in Globyne town and village Romodan of Poltava region and river terminal in Vitovo village of Cherkasy region were built and put into operation. Over 300 million USD have been spent for a short time. 46 contractor companies from 22 regions of Ukraine were involved in construction of these complexes. The objective for our company is to increase the inland silos up to 600 thousand tons by July the 1st, 2010. Now it is scheduled to begin construction of inland silos and river terminals in Gradyz’k, Kremenchug and Artemivka of Poltava region and in Kamyanka-Dniprovs’ka in Zaporizhzhya region. One of the key stages of the investment project is building of its own fleet. On the 28th of August, 2009 three barges were launched, and on the 20th of October, 2009 four more vessels were launched. This fruitful cooperation of “NIBULON” and OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” gives unique results for Ukraine. Not only during the time of  Independence of Ukraine, but also at the time of Soviet Union there was no case that it was built so many ships in such a short time. On December the 3rd, 2009 four more vessels were launched. Then a contract for the construction of   next 8 non-self-propelled barges between “NIBULON” and OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” was signed. Investment project is well on schedule. But unfortunately, the company confronts with problems that prevent its normal economic activity. We learned how to fight with Somali pirates, know how to pass the dangerous Gulf of Aden, but actions of the officials of the transport industry of Ukraine are more dangerous and unpredictable than the Somali pirates. As a result of Mykolayiv sea port captain’s prohibition (read – conspiracy of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine, the chief and the captain of government enterprise “Mykolayiv commercial seaport”) vessel «Preventer» idles for more than 50 days, international contract for the supply of barley to Iran is being broken, the image of Ukraine in the international market is deteriorating. There is another problem. For a long time the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine blocks the approval of issuing an agreement pursuit to “NIBULON” for their own means of dredging works on land leased equipment for water and operational approaches to areas of transshipment terminal in Mykolayiv. All these problems “NIBULON” decides on its own, unfortunately without the help of subordinate cabinet of ministers. But during its long and successful history, company have repeatedly proved that a fair and transparent business will always overcome any difficulties and will win all troubles “NIBULON” is confidently looking to the future!
