The German state financial institution is providing a grant of €4.8 million under the develoPPP program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ).The funds will be allocated for technical demining, which involves clearing Ukrainian land of explosive objects using specialized demining machines. The mechanized approach will greatly increase the speed of the demining process and save the lives of sappers.“NIBULON has been collaborating with DEG – Deutsche Investitions– und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of KfW, since 2019. During this period, the German Development Finance Institution has repeatedly provided long-term capital for our investment projects and operational activity. During wartime, DEG is supporting not only NIBULON but also a broader range of Ukrainian landowners, communities, and agricultural producers. The equipment acquired will be used not only for demining our own land bank but also for providing services to anyone who needs this. We warmly thank DEG and its CEO Roland Siller for the open stance and assistance,” says Andriy Vadaturskyy, CEO of NIBULON.It is worth noting that in April 2023, NIBULON obtained the status of a demining operator and the first certificate for non-technical survey of territories affected by armed conflict or occupation. The equipment to be purchased with grant funds will enable us to reach the next level, namely the right to technical survey of territories, manual demining, and clearing of military operations areas. The technical survey certificate allows us to search for explosive objects on potentially contaminated areas as identified by non-technical survey, as well as to confirm or deny the presence of explosive objects, while the manual demining certificate allows for the manual or mechanized demining of mined areas where possible.
