Olena Dorontsova, power engineer at the Khortytsia branch.

Supporting women in fields traditionally considered «male» helps break social stereotypes and shows that women are capable of achieving success in any industry. The stories of women at NIBULON demonstrate that what matters is not your gender, but who you are as a person, your strength of will, resilience, and determination to achieve your goals. Thus, we continue to introduce you to our outstanding women who are breaking stereotypes. Today, we will tell you about Olena Dorontsova, a power engineer at the Khortytsia branch.

Olena joined NIBULON in 2023 and has become a vital member of the team. With her years of experience in the energy sector, she is able to successfully solve complex tasks. When Olena first started with the company, there were many employees at the branch, and the work processes were running smoothly. However, the situation changed with the outbreak of the war. Given the new circumstances, the company underwent significant changes, and Olena had to step into the roles of chief engineer, chief energy specialist, and chief mechanic, effectively taking on her new responsibilities.

During this challenging time, Olena was able not only to adapt to the new conditions but also to demonstrate her leadership by taking on additional responsibilities. She successfully managed technical processes and maintained operational stability despite the constant changes in circumstances.

For Olena, both professional development and the atmosphere within the team are essential. She shares, «I really appreciate that whenever I reach out for help to anyone at any branch or to any department manager, I always receive support and answers to my questions. This creates an atmosphere of mutual support, which is very important in teamwork.»

On why she chose this profession, Olena shares: «In the Soviet times, a list of schools that you could apply to was published in the newspaper. My mom and I chose between two schools: one was a school that trained electricians, and the other was affiliated with the Zaporizhstal enterprise. But it so happened that we ended up in the area where the electrical installation school was located, and we decided to choose it.» The knowledge and experience gained became the foundation of her further development. «After studying for a year, I decided to go into production, where I worked as an electrician. After finishing my studies at the school, I continued my education at the university, » recalls Olena.

Certainly, there have been various reactions from those around her on this journey. However, her family and loved ones support her decision, even though they sometimes joke about her constant learning and professional development. Olena shares: «My relatives sometimes joke about me, saying that I’m a perpetual student because I’m always learning and taking exams. My profession requires continuous learning and upgrading of qualifications, so I’m always in the process of development.» Olena’s words vividly demonstrate her ongoing progress, her desire for self-improvement, and her readiness for new challenges.

The story of Olena Dorontsova is an example of how true success is achieved through professionalism, persistence, and the ability to work effectively within a team. It demonstrates that to achieve high results, not only personal qualities are important but also the ability to find support within the team and be prepared for new challenges. Olena, like many other employees of NIBULON, breaks stereotypes by showing that anyone, regardless of gender, can succeed in any field if they have the desire to develop, learn, and work towards results. The success of the company is the success of each of its employees, and NIBULON continues to create an environment where everyone can unlock their potential.

We previously told you about Natalia Voynotynska, the first female driver at NIBULON. Another key figure at the Khortytsia branch is another energy specialist Kostiantyn Patalakh, a veteran. You can find an article about him at the link.
