The First City Award Ceremony „The Philanthropist of the Year 2008” took place in the Regional Art Museum named after V.Vereshchagin. This was the first ceremony arranged to promote charity in our city, to give public recognition to those representatives of city community for their support of charity activities, aimed on solving of current social problems. 98 applications were received for the award ceremony, 73 of which were actually accepted. Winners were awarded in 12 nominations. „NIBULON Ltd” was represented in nomination “Big Business Company”. The head of the Prize Committee Mykolayiv Mayor Volodymyr Сhaika welcomed the laureates and guests of the ceremony with the following words: “Noble-minded and generous people have gathered here. Each cent, each benevolent gesture will return to you multiplied. I’m thankful to all the people who have dedicated themselves to this noble thing.” The head of Mykolayiv Chamber of Commerce Sergiy Vlasenko as a member of the Prize Committee mentioned that only the noblest people of the city were present there: “It’s not enough to be responsible only for yourself, for your family today. Nowadays we have to be responsible for our city, for our country. Open-hearted people who support those who need some help have gathered here today. We strive to as many philanthropists in Mykolayiv as possible. The keynote of the speeches of laureates and nominees, who received their awards, was the necessity to turn charity to an inseparable part of our everyday life. In this way we’ll make our life happier and our society better. Deputy General Director on Trade Mr. Vadaturskyy Andriy Oleksiyovych was awarded the prize for „NIBULON Ltd” in nomination “Big Business Company”. In his speech he mentioned: “Charity is in no way the amount of donated money or a number of people and companies being helped. In charity the quality of donations is what matters. Our aid we give must be helpful to the maximum. „NIBULON Ltd” will proceed to give aid to those who need it and will support active initiative people who care about our city
