The influence of NIBULON on the dynamics of land clearance in Ukraine and the development of the humanitarian demining sector was acknowledged with an Appreciation Certificate from the Ukrainian Association for Humanitarian Demining (UAHD).

At the recent Demining Tech conference, the certificate was presented to Mykhailo Rizak, Director of Government Relations at NIBULON, by the Association’s Director, Oleksandr Bortnikov.
Oleksandr Bortnikov, Director of UAHD:
“In 2024, NIBULON made a significant contribution to the development of Ukraine’s mine action industry. Due to the company’s active participation and the support from the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, important breakthroughs were made, such as launching a state program for demining compensation for farmers and raising the issue of underwater demining at the international stage. These initiatives not only contribute to the safety and development of the agricultural sector but also create conditions for the restoration of river navigation, which is crucial for the country’s economy and its integration into global processes.”
Mykhailo Rizak, Director of Government Relations at NIBULON:
“In 2025, we will focus on systematically addressing key challenges in both land demining for agricultural purposes and waterway demining.
First and foremost, this involves collaborating with government authorities to develop a new approach for creating land areas for all stages of land clearance: from non-technical surveys to mechanized and manual demining. Currently, the scattershot approach to this issue has led to artificial organizational and logistical complications, which can be avoided through a systematic approach.
Furthermore, together with the mine clearance community, we are working on improving mine action processes and increasing the availability of technical equipment. Our plans include localizing the production and repair of demining machines, creating platforms for underwater demining, and integrating AI to provide additional analytics during non-technical surveys, inspections, and more. All of this will make the demining process faster, more efficient, and more accessible for Ukraine.”
NIBULON also plans to expand the certification of its demining unit to a full cycle, which will include neutralizing explosive remnants of war and underwater demining.
“We continue to invest in development, are ready to provide services to anyone interested, and are drawing the government’s attention to the fact that we have not yet received reimbursement for the demining projects already completed,” said Mykhailo Rizak. “We expect this support, which we have already earned, and are ready to continue clearing Ukrainian lands and waterways.”
Recentle, NIBULON, together with Global Clearance Solutions, won the Partnership for Sustainability Award 2024 in the “Peace” category. This prestigious international award is a testament to our contribution to sustainable development, supporting communities, and rebuilding Ukraine.
