Friends, we have already told you that the company is expanding the scope of its humanitarian demining initiative by launching non-technical survey (NTS) courses for employees.
Two groups of NIBULON’s employees, including top management, have already completed the training and received the relevant certificates.
What exactly is covered in the NTS training program?
Here are the details.
The NTS training lasts 40 hours and includes both theoretical and mandatory practical sessions. The skills acquired include interviewing the local population, determining azimuths, distances, projections of points, and creating maps.
In addition, the participants learn to recognize detected explosive devices, to use personal protective equipment, and to correctly fill out reports on non-technical surveys, etc.
“The main task of NTS personnel is to detect and record evidence of mines and other explosive devices,” says Maksym Sovietkin, head of NIBULON’s demining department, an experienced deminer and trainer. “This preparatory process is very important when clearing areas of explosive hazards. Properly conducted NTS provides the data that allows us, the professional deminers, to direct and prioritize the next stages – technical survey and clearance of mines from the ground.
During the training, NIBULON’s employees performed exceptionally well; they asked a lot of clarifying questions, focusing on the practical application of the skills. I am confident that, with such a dedicated and proactive team, we will make Ukrainian land safe for cultivation faster.”
Vladyslav Hryhoriev, a humanitarian demining quality engineer and trainer, added:
“The several-day training, in addition to providing specific skills and practical exercises, was also aimed at making people aware of the versatility of knowledge that an NTS specialist needs to have to do the job perfectly.
It requires communication skills to conduct interviews with the local population, knowledge of cartography to correctly indicate the coordinates of a dangerous area, etc. That’s why an experienced leader forms NTS teams of 3-4 people who have well-developed skills in different areas.”
After receiving a certificate of completion, NIBULON’s employees will be involved in the process of NTS during trips to the regions.
The next groups of SPECIAL DEMINE FORCES have already been formed and are ready to undergo training.
Making Ukraine safe again!
