Mykhailo Rizak, Director on Government Relations and Sustainability of NIBULON and Director of the shipyard, Bohdan Muzyka conducted the tour of the enterprise and the terminal and informed Mr. Consul about the process of the construction of the craft for a diving group of the demining of the inland water areas. The topic to discuss were NIBULON’s plans for the further development of the company in conditions when the ports of Mykolaiv are completely blocked by russian federation, as well as possible options of joint initiatives that can help in solving problems of exporting Ukrainian grain.“Since the very beginning of the war, the fleet of Mykolaiv has been blocked. There are 110 vessels under different flags, of which 70 are units of the NIBULON’s fleet. To restore the Ukrainian grain export and support the agricultural sector of Ukraine, today is highly important to resolve the issue of the unblocking of the fleet and its relocation to Danube. Before the war, NIBULON MAX and other vessels of the company transshipped up to 22 thousand tons of grain per day on outer roads. It is necessary to restore the Mykolaiv’s experience on transshipment of grain cargoes outer roads, to form an external roadstead for the Izmail sea port near the exit of Bystre mouth of the Danube, to use our fleet effectively and to reduce the cost of logistics”, – noted Mykhailo Rizak.Blocked fleet in MykolaivParking of vessels waiting to pass the Bystre mouth as of 14.07.2023During the tour of SSY’s facilities, he also emphasized the importance of the operation of the enterprise as the only one active shipbuilding-shiprepair yard in Ukraine with the technology of industrial shipbuilding from marine aluminum, in particular.“Despite the difficult times, NIBULON has resumed the industrial processing of aluminum for shipbuilding. At our own expense we started to build the first vessel of the DSNS 25 project, which will be used for demining international inland waterways. We hope for the support of donors and the state, which will allow us to manufacture 15 vessels for the needs of the State Emergency Service, because currently more than 16 thousand km2 of water area are mined in Ukraine”, – noted Mykhailo Rizak.Another possibility of loading SSY NIBULON is the construction of a ferry crossing across the Southern Buh. According to Mykhailo Rizak, this is a promising project, the implementation of which will contribute to reducing the load on the motor roads surface in Mykolaiv, reducing polluting emissions of the freight vehicles within the city, as well as creating new jobs and providing shipbuilding orders. In turn, Karel Burger Dirven noted significant consequences, caused by the war, for NIBULON and company’s employees, who despite everything, continue to work: “Mykolaiv port is completely blocked. RU doesn’t allow Ukraine to open Mykolaiv port for grain trade. I urge the world, EU and NATO countries not to let RU blackmail and frustrate the world's food security. Help to open this port”.
