NIBULON, together with Global Clearance Solutions, won the Partnership for Sustainability Award 2024 in the “Peace” category.
This prestigious international award, initiated by the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine, recognizes the collective efforts of businesses, government, and civil society aimed at creating a better future. It is a testament to our contribution to sustainable development, supporting communities, and rebuilding Ukraine.
The award ceremony took place in Kyiv and was attended by representatives from businesses, government, and civil society. The award was presented by Stefan Kossoff, Development Director at the British Embassy in Ukraine.
Our case is an example of a comprehensive approach to solving the problems of demining Ukrainian land, providing social support to local communities, and promoting sustainable development.
Our cooperation with Global Clearance Solutions (GCS), the first commercially-accredited demining company in Ukraine, has enabled us to effectively organize the process of clearing the territories of explosive ordnance. With the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the develoPPP programme, this project has helped the communities most affected by the war.
As a result of our participation:
- stable payments were made to landowners, who continued to receive income even during demining operations
- local communities were supported, receiving crucial income to survive in challenging conditions
- a contribution was made to the preservation of life on land, which is in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
It should be noted that the Partnership for Sustainability Award is held annually by the UN Global Compact Network Ukraine. It recognizes the best projects implemented through partnerships between businesses, NGOs, and governments in achieving sustainable development.
The win of NIBULON is proof that Ukrainian businesses can not only meet the challenges of war, but also make a significant contribution to the country’s recovery and the creation of a better future.
