For the second year in a row, NIBULON is supporting the maritime prose competition, helping to preserve the history and traditions of Ukrainian shipbuilding and navigation.
The fifth season of the ‘MATELOT‘ competition is notable for the high level of participation, centered around the excruciating main theme – “The Ukrainian Maritime Corridor.” A total of 72 stories were submitted for review by the expert jury, which this year includes Bohdan Muzyka, the director of the NIBULON Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard. Every story undergoes careful review, and all works are examined with a keen focus on detail and creativity. We sincerely thank each author for their participation and creative contribution.

Bohdan Muzyka, the director of the NIBULON Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard:
“We are grateful to Anton Sanchenko, who founded the competition and continues to support it, even during the war. This is truly an important cultural event that promotes maritime themes and strengthens the connection between culture and the maritime industry. For us, shipbuilders, it is a demonstration of respect and emphasizes the importance of the shipbuilding industry. Together, we are creating a modern fleet today while preserving the memory and traditions of the past!”
Based on the results of the competition, the Marine Anthology 2024-2025 will be published, featuring 15 to 20 stories by the winners. Additionally, a special nomination, ‘NIBULON’s Choice,’ will be awarded. The winners will receive not only recognition for their creative achievements but also fantastic prizes that will inspire further literary accomplishments.
