Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Kostiantyn Bryl announced that during a meeting of the Regional Development Council held with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. There were presented the key investment projects of the region.
NIBULON started constructing the terminal in October 2018. NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy and Kostiantyn Bryl solemnly started the construction process as part of the 3rd International Forum for Integration and Cooperation “InCo Forum 2018” during a live stream from the construction site. The facility in Ternivka (Vilniansk district) will become NIBULON’s third terminal in Zaporizhzhia region. The construction of the terminal in Ternivka will comprise an investment of USD 23 million.
Opening the meeting of the Regional Development Council in Zaporizhzhia on Wednesday, the President Petro Poroshenko stressed that NIBULON’s work with local authorities is an example of how the relationship with investors, including foreign ones, should be build. “This is a sign of fundamental changes in the perception of investor. He is perceived not as a dairy cow, which needs to be fed less and milked more; but he is perceived as litmus paper, if everything is fine with our investment climate”, said the President.
He emphasized that thanks to NIBULON and its projects, not only additional jobs at the company’s terminals will be created, but the competitiveness of agricultural products in the region will be increased. In particular, united territorial communities in rural areas will receive additional jobs and revenues to the budgets. The President also emphasized the importance of a number of implemented projects as part of social partnership. It is measured by tens of millions of hryvnias only in Zaporizhzhia region.
“Completion of the construction of the largest NIBULON’s river transshipment terminal is among the most long-awaited events of 2019 in our region. This will improve the region’s logistics, remove traffic load from the roads, and revitalize the economy. The local budget will receive more than UAH 5 million in taxes annually”, added Kostiantyn Bryl.
In turn, NIBULON’s General Director, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy emphasized that Zaporizhzhia region is an example of investment attractiveness in terms of the attitude of deputies to the projects that contribute to the region’s prosperity. “We have implemented this investment project in a year, and I thank them very much for such support. Zaporizhzhia region is the only region in Ukraine which will have three state-of-the-art transshipment terminals on the Dnipro River. And this means a crazy reduction, about UAH 4 billion for road repairs. We have ensured that every farmer in Zaporizhzhia region could be a participant in Ukraine’s foreign economic activity”, noted Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
During the forum, NIBULON’s General Director held a virtual excursion at the construction site. Due to the live stream, the participants of the meeting headed by the President made sure of the rapid pace of the facility construction, which is being conducted despite weather conditions and a cold season. The contractors are building walls of an administrative building, a cafeteria, a transformer station. They also bring soil and sand to level the territory. The construction of berths and foundations for a truck tipper, a headhouse, and an underground connecting gallery is being continued.
According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, 1,500 builders from 70 contracting organizations from almost all regions of Ukraine will work at the construction site; 5-6 ferroconcrete products plants of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions will have a workload, as the length of piles to be rammed is about 105 km. About a million tons of cubic meters of soil will be removed from the facility.
NIBULON’s General Director stressed that due to a large-scale investment project to revive river transportation along the Dnipro and the Southern Buh Rivers, as well as thanks to the construction of a network of transshipment terminals (a USD 2 billion investment), NIBULON has changed the map of agrarian logistics on its own. In the places where NIBULON’s terminals work, trucks transferring crop overcome much smaller distances, thereby reducing load on roads and bridges.
He also reminded everyone of the company’s key achievements over the past 4 years. In particular, he mentioned the fact that NIBULON has built 35 vessels of its own fleet; they fly the Ukrainian flag and are made of Ukrainian metal. “I am proud that we have 4 applicants for every job at the shipping company, and there are 1,600 specialists next in turn to get a job. People do not want to go abroad. On the contrary, they want to be employed at our company. 9,000 specialists are next in turn to get a job at our shipbuilding yard. And we create 400-500 jobs every year. We also dredged 134 km of the Southern Buh River. This is our contribution to the development of Ukraine’s infrastructure”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
“We plan to transport 4 million tons of products along the Dnipro River. This will save UAH 4 billion for road repairs. And we continue constructing the fleet. We will transport 60 % of cargoes in Ukraine by river transport. By our own example, we have shown that we transport agricultural products by river transport, thereby removing traffic load from the roads”, stresses Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
We would remind you that NIBULON constructed its first terminal in Zaporizhzhia region – “Kamyanka-Dniprovs’ka” branch – in 2010. In June 2017, the company inaugurated its transshipment terminal of “Khortytsia” branch in Bilenke village (Zaporizhzhia district) in the presence of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman, representatives of international financial institutions, and ambassadors of foreign countries.
