NIBULON is one of the main investors in Zaporizhzhia region. There are already two transshipment terminals of the company – in Kamianka-Dniprovska and Bilenke. Zaporizhzhia region will have one more transshipment terminal of the company very soon. No other region in Ukraine has such a number of NIBULON’s facilities on the Dnipro River. A great merit in this belongs precisely to the establishment of an effective dialogue with the investor and the cooperation of government and business in reviving the Dnipro River as a transport artery and a fundamental change in the logistics of agricultural transportation. As head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Kostiantyn Bryl noted, in a dialogue with an investor there should be bureaucracy and corruption.
General Director of NIBULON Oleksiy Vadaturskyy spoke about the achievements and future prospects of NIBULON’s investment program in Zaporizhzhia region during an extended meeting of the Regional Development Council of the region.
The investor thanked citizens of Zaporizhzhia region and chairman of the region Kostiantyn Bryl for their support and assistance in the implementation of the company’s project,
“Part of our company, as well as part of my soul, is here, in Zaporizhzhia region. Therefore, I am very pleased that in your region high plans are being fulfilled and investment projects are being implemented despite the difficult time for Ukraine. Our company has joined these investments, and today we are building our most high-capacity facility on the Dnipro River, doing everything to remove traffic load from the country’s roads”.
Using Zaporizhzhia as an example, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy demonstrated how NIBULON changes the logistics of the agrarian sector of the whole region. Thanks to the commissioning of NIBULON’s two facilities in the region, shipment distance of agricultural products has reduced by 3-4 times.
A little more than a month ago, the company launched the construction of a new high-capacity transshipment terminal in Ternivka village (Vilniansk district) with the help of live stream from the construction site during the 3rd International Forum for Integration and Cooperation “InCo Forum 2018”. The construction in Ternivka will comprise a USD 22 million investment. During the construction of the facility, more than 100 enterprises of Zaporizhzhia region will be involved; this is more than UAH 60 million of wages to builders and more than UAH 20 million of taxes paid by construction organizations. The high-tech transshipment terminal will provide jobs for about 120 people, reduce the commodity transport expenses of the region’s farmers, as well as will contribute more than UAH 2.7 million in taxes annually to the local budget.
The commissioning of the transshipment terminal is scheduled for July 2019. After that, it is planned to virtually eliminate inter-regional transportation. And farmers will be able to transport their crop to the company’s nearest elevator at a 60-80 km distance. Thus, farmers will need to attract four times less road transport in order to transport commodities. This contributes to an increase in farmers’ incomes, a decrease in expenses, and an improvement in the ecology of transportation.
In the next two years, NIBULON plans to redirect almost all its cargoes to the Dnipro River and to transport 4 million tons of commodities per year by water. This will significantly reduce traffic load on the roads. And according to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, one million tons of cargo transported by water transport save about UAH 800 million on pavement repair. To this end, the best cargo fleet in Ukraine is being built at the company’s own shipbuilding yard in Mykolaiv. By the way, Zaporizhzhia sailors, who no longer need to leave their families and their motherland in search of earnings, work on the company’s vessels.
NIBULON’s activity in Zaporizhzhia region is of great social value for local people. At the beginning of April 2017, a complex of treatment facilities, completed and reconstructed by NIBULON, was transferred to the local community. It was a historical event for the whole village because people have waited for this important object of social infrastructure for more than 20 years. In addition, the company also equipped a modern computer classroom at the local school, built a football pitch with a natural green covering and irrigation system, repaired road, and equipped a recreation park on the bank of the Dnipro River adjacent to the transshipment terminal.
This August NIBULON quickly came to rescue Zaporizhzhia region from the environmental disaster and death of tens of thousands of so-iuy mullet in the Molochnyi Estuary in the Pryazovskyi National Park (Zaporizhzhia region). In order to free the fish, the dredger’s crew worked round-the-clock. In total, they removed about 10,000 m3 of sand. The strait that linked the Molochnyi Estuary to the Azov Sea was 680 m long and up to 2 m deep.
According to Kostianyn Bryl, cooperation with NIBULON is a new page in the development of Zaporizhzhia region, “I am grateful to NIBULON for high level of social responsibility, because I always cite this company as an example of a successful dialogue with an investor. This company makes a great contribution to social projects and as a result receives only positive things”.
“We do everything in this difficult period for Ukraine to show by example that you need to be a patriotic company and invest in the economy of your motherland, to create jobs, to give impetus to local reforms, and to develop the economy of the whole country”, stressed Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
