Serhii Kalkutin, deputy general director of logistics, and Andrii Volik, deputy general director of fleet construction, fleet operation and navigation safety, told the guests about major production processes (from agricultural commodity receipt to its shipment on water transport), technologies of high-tech enterprise, as well as about the company’s unique logistics infrastructure, thanks to which Ukraine is renowned as a supplier of high-quality grain.
After seeing the terminal of the company which expands its geography and scale of production activities, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olha Trofimtseva noted the company’s complex approach to organization of an entire supply chain from field to consumer and an exemplary character of logistics development,
“I am very impressed by the technological approach to all processes, to the development of the entire chain; I mean the chain from field to consumer, to export. It is here that in fact the visualization and specification of this chain takes place, when we see how grain is supplied from fields, how it is tested in the laboratory and shipped, it is brought to export conditions if necessary, loaded on barges, etc. In fact, I consider such an integrated approach to be very good. This is exactly what the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is also trying to talk about to our producers. Why are NIBULON’s activities important? When it goes to grain and oilseeds, etc., it means logistics, transport infrastructure. Therefore, any investments in this sphere help us to learn it in more realistic and practical way. Yesterday, we talked to our colleagues from Turkey. In a few years, Ukraine will potentially be producing about 110 million tons of grain. It is wonderful, but how will we export it? I am sure that we will be able to export commodities thanks to efforts of such companies as NIBULON”.
NIBULON increases its cargo fleet, intensively constructing new vessels at its own shipbuilding and repair yard (which is being reconstructed) and develops its network of transshipment terminals in various regions of Ukraine.
It should be noted that despite the annual increase in the number of exporters, NIBULON Group maintains its market share and leadership. It testifies to a really high level of the company competitiveness. In addition, increase in the volume of cargo transportation by river to optimize domestic logistics ensures an increase in the competitiveness of Ukrainian agricultural commodities in the global market.
