There is only the finishing touch left, namely the completion of plating of the unique building to control the rails of the slipway with metal sheets; it will look like a real tug. The management of the company is convinced that the shipbuilders should be pleased not only with their workplaces but also with the overall aesthetic appearance of the shipyard and the working conditions in general.
Last week, an operation panel was installed in the building; the commissioning works were carried out. The shipyard’s specialists will test new launching ways tomorrow. They will lift one of the non-self-propelled vessels of the company’s fleet to carry out repairs. And on February 23, the first non-self-propelled B5000 project vessel (length – 101 m) will be launched from the reconstructed slipway.
It should be noted that at the moment of the acquisition of the property complex in August 2012 and creation of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard it constructed vessels of 70 m. Thanks to the first stage of the berth modernization, NIBULON’s shipbuilders are capable of constructing and maintaining 100-m vessels. However, this is not the limit for the shipyard. The company plans to construct six more launching ways that will allow the shipbuilders to maintain complete vessels with the length of 140 m.
