NIBULON’s General Director, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy announced this during the solemn ceremony of transferring Volvo trucks to NIBULON in Kyiv on Tuesday.
According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, the company has acquired 60 new trucks this year – 30 of them are Volvo trucks, others are Mercedes and Scania trucks.
“According to the World Bank, there are less than 1% of new trucks on the highways of Ukraine, less than 3% of trucks up to 5 years, more than 75%of trucksolder than 10 years. Thus, by acquiring these trucks that will be involved in transportation of grain and oilseeds from our facilities to sea and river ports, we will improve the statistics of new vehicles in Ukraine. In fact, today we receive new truck fleet in Ukraine”, said General Director of NIBULON.  
He also stressed that Volvo trucks have been delivered to Ukraine right from conveyors in Ghent (Belgium) and Gothenburg (Sweden). These are modern models that are also supplied to the European countries.
Commercial Director of Volvo Trucks Ukraine Inna Smola added that the vehicles have been designed for the needs of NIBULON. “We have studied the routes and operating conditions and offered the complete set fully adapted not just to the roads of Ukraine but for transportation NIBULON will perform – short distance from fields around the river terminals within 80-120 km”, noted Inna Smola.
In addition, according to Inna Smola, the vehicles are equipped with a monitoring system that allows you to monitor about 170 characteristics of the vehicles online, including loading level, driving style, fuel consumption, and others. All the drivers of new Volvo trucks will undergo a mandatory training course on the efficient operation of transport.
According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, NIBULON is the first Ukrainian agricultural company, which completely refuses to transport grain and oilseeds to other regions.
“We are creating infrastructure where delivery will be carried out within the region of the nearest river elevator, and then cargo is transported by water. We have already removed about 2 million tons of grain a year from the roads, and every million tons save about UAH 800 million on road repair. We plan to transport up to 60% of cargoes by river and set a goal to remove 4-5 million tons of grain from the roads. This will allow Ukraine to save up to UAH 4 billion on road repair annually”, stressed General Director of NIBULON.
He also added that the company has implemented a program to release regional centers from heavy-duty trucks by building terminals outside them and paving the way for trucks to bypass these cities.
“Civil servants could study this experience and implement it on a national scale. It would be better than criticizing us all the time”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.

According to Henrik Norberg, Deputy Head of Mission of the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine, this is an example of support all the European Union members would like to provide.  “One of the main tasks for any Embassy is to increase the volumes of bilateral trade. We see good results in terms of cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden. But for further growth we need more successful examples, like this one between NIBULON and Volvo Trucks Ukraine.  Swedish companies are very cautious about making decisions; they do not take final steps until they are convinced of creating all the necessary conditions for work. There are many Swedish companies interested in Ukrainian market; they are just waiting to take this final step. Therefore, it is so important to talk about this story of success as much as possible”, stressed Mr. Norberg.
