In particular, this website informed that the so-called reliable but unnamed source from the environmental inspection found out oil products (probably, mazut – heavy fuel oil) on the beach area of Koblevo village (Mykolayiv region).
By the way, the article’s writer unreasonably supposed that NIBULON’s activity led to such consequences.
Andriy Volik, NIBULON’s deputy general director of fleet construction, fleet operation and navigation safety, proved the unreliability of information specified in the given article.
NIBULON’s cargo fleet is up-to-date private fleet in Ukraine. The construction of vessels has been started since 2009, and St. Mykolai floating crane was constructed in August 2013. NIBULON installed new modern equipment produced by world’s leading producers. All the vessels are certified by the Shipping Register of Ukraine and have the Certificate to Prevent Atmosphere and Water Area Pollution by Oil, Waste Water, and Garbage. Thus, the statement that NIBULON polluted the water area by using outdated vessels and cranes is doubtful.
NIBULON’s vessels run on high-quality diesel fuel meeting the Euro 5 standard. Consequently, the oil products (mazut) were not discharged from NIBULON’s vessels.
We officially inform that NIBULON does not fuel vessels in the roads. The company fuels vessels on the cargo berth at NIBULON’s transshipment terminal (Mykolayiv). The place to fuel vessels is coordinated with the State Environmental Inspection of North-West Region of the Black Sea. In addition, fueling is supervised by the state environmental inspector from Mykolayiv Sector of Environmental and Radiological Control of the State Environmental Inspection of North-West Region of the Black Sea.
Taking into consideration false statements made by the article’s writers, it seems that NIBULON is the only company operating in the Black Sea near Koblevo village. Please note that the vessels loaded by NIBULON are 14 miles away from Koblevo beach area. At the same time Yuzhny Port, where 4 large-capacity vessels running on heavy fuel oil are at anchorage now, is at the distance of 6.5 miles.
One should not forget that the advisory route (way) for foreign vessels being bound for Mykolayiv and Kherson ports as well as for the Dnipro is at the distance of 3 miles away from Koblevo beaches. Up to 20 vessels running on heavy fuel oil use this route daily.
Dear mass-media representatives, do not break Ukrainian laws and avoid spreading doubtful information. You will not succeed in tarnishing our investment project to revive navigation on Ukrainian inland waterways. Do not try to enhance your reputation by means of NIBULON’s activities. Do not mislead readers, respect people and check the information accurately. NIBULON’s specialists are ready to comment upon any situation and arrange excursions to NIBULON’s facilities (an excursion in the outer roads of Mykolayiv Sea Port will be held on April 28, 2016; place of departure – 63 Velyka Morska Str.).
