“Tiredness and negativity caused by current problems appear during a working week. When you arrive at the construction site, your mood improves. It is a type of relaxation. When you see people work devotedly, you realize that this work makes them forget about current problems, complicated economic situation in the country, high prices, and problems in the East.
This work ensures stable wages and gives people confidence in the future.
This work is an example of how the crisis in the country can be overcome. People perform their duties here. As a result, it will be a powerful incentive to the economy development both in the region and in the country”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy at the meeting with directors from contracting organizations.
Today the construction site is illuminated round-the-clock; thus, 19 contracting organizations from different Ukrainian regions work here (their number will increase up to 45, i.e. up to 1.5 thousands builders); more than 20 units of high-capacity machinery operate at the construction site. Despite a lot of workers at the construction site, the work is organized appropriately. Cooperation and mutual understanding are among workers. The construction workers are gradually starting to work round-the-clock.
In addition to long-standing and reliable partners of the company, there will be work for others. “Today NIBULON is open for local construction organizations working in this and neighboring districts. We have a lot of work to do, and every one of you can find a job in accordance with professional skills. These construction organizations should offer services, and NIBULON will give people a job”, says Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
Production meetings are characterized by interesting events and practical ideas that make people understand the benefits from NIBULON’s investment project.
Thus, according to the construction progress results, the specialists have made a work schedule for the near future.
1. Perspektyva-Mykolayiv Ltd will have completed ramming piles for the foundation of the terminal’s cafeteria by April 09.
2. V.S. Kondratyuk (an individual entrepreneur) will have finished constructing the transformer substation by April 12.
3. TavriyaMonolitBud Ltd will have developed and provided a schedule to construct the administrative and laboratory complex by April 09. The organization will start constructing outwalls of the building.
4. Transsvit private enterprise will have installed metal hydraulic seal of the headhouse (by April 04) and will have constructed an area wall by 50% as well as completed constructing the bottom and wall of a silo gallery No.6 (by April 09).
5. VF VZAEMODIYA Ltd will have constructed the bottom of a silo gallery No. 4, 5, 6.
6. Poltavaspetsmontazh Ltd will assemble metal hydraulic seal of walls and bottom of the headhouse.
Deputy General Director of Construction, Sergiy Besedin, reminded workers to abide by the work schedule. The terminal construction performed in compliance with NIBULON’s standard requires high qualification, discipline and production standards.
The Southern Bug’s potential is underestimated. It can be compared with a road of more than 130 km long without holes.
Talking to partners, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy stressed that the Southern Bug dredging performed by NIBULON itself and the new transshipment terminal would significantly improve logistics both in Mykolayiv region and in Ukraine as a whole.
“I still remember those times when I used to travel by a passenger hydrofoil from Voznesensk to Mykolayiv. There was no Ingul Bridge in Mykolayiv at that time”, recollects Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. “Please note that till 1991, up to 1.1 million passengers were carried by the Southern Bug. If compare the current number of citizens in the region (1.164 million persons), this means that each citizen in the region travelled by river even once per year, or people from villages adjacent to the river used passenger transport hundreds of times.
NIBULON’s “Voznesens’ka” branch will provide an opportunity to local farmers to become foreign economic entities, supplying grain to Africa, Asia and other countries in the world, excluding resellers.
Cargo was actively transported by the river. For example, till 1990, more than 1.1 million tons of different cargoes were transported by the Southern Bug annually (almost 11 thousand tons of stone, 354 thousand tons of chip, 55 thousand tons of grain crops, 675 thousand tons of sand and 11 thousand tons of other cargoes), i.e. up to 10 thousand tons of different cargoes were transported per day, which could be carried by almost 400 high tonnage trucks. Today building materials are not transported by the river at all. Almost all grain crops were transported by the river from Nova Odesa elevator at that time. Our company aims to transport 1 million tons of grain crops along the Southern Bug. These grain cargo volumes are higher than before Ukraine’s independence. Thus, up to 2 million tons of grain crops and other cargoes can be transported along the Southern Bug at present”, says Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. “I want to revive the river. And our company will do everything so that the Southern Bug may become navigable”.
For example, one kilometer of high-quality road costs UAH 40 million. In order construct an automotive alternative of this waterway, it is necessary to spend UAH 5.4 billion. Money saving is extremely important for the state budget”, says Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
NIBULON proves that one company can successfully and efficiently grow and export agricultural commodities, build ships, and construct facilities at the same time.
At the end of May, the company’s management plans to hold a number of training meetings with agrarians to explain this process.
This activity demonstrates that the only one company can do a lot both to develop Ukraine’s economy and to improve living standards.
