On October 16, 2015, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko personally gave a start to this project while visiting NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. The total investment is up to USD 30 million.  
As part of this, the specialists at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard continue fulfilling a plan of the shipyard’s workload for 2016-2018.
March has marked the beginning of construction of the first two non-self-propelled vessels (B2000 project) as well as the fourth vessel (NBL-91 project).
If the first three NBL-91 project vessels transport cargoes along the Dnipro and the Southern Bug, the B2000 project vessels are a completely new shipbuilding order. NIBULON will construct a total of eight such vessels.
For information. The B2000 project vessels are designed for operation along the Southern Bug. Main dimensions: length – 71.7 m; breadth overall – 17.0 m; depth – 3.3 m; draught loaded – 2.25 m; draught lightship – 1.8 m; displacement – 2,515 tons; cargo hold capacity – 2,850 m³; number of holds – 1; navigation area – Ukrainian inland waterways.
These vessels will operate together with the 121 project tugs. This will enable NIBULON to transport up to 4,000 thousand tons of grain per one cargo trip (121 project tug plus 2 barges (B2000 project), which represents the same figure as could be carried by 100 trucks. Thus, due to NIBULON’s activities, more than 12.5 thousand trucks can be removed from roads till the end of 2016.
Thus, at present the company’s shipbuilders are producing sections and forming units for both B2000 project vessels. The shipbuilders are also producing flat plates of the outer shell plating, inner side, inner bottom as well as plates for the upper deck.
The shipbuilders have formed the units No.1-3 of the first vessel and units No.1-2 of the second vessel on berth.
The workers continue producing and assembling items of the mechanical and fitter’s area. They are painting side compartments.
At the same time the shipbuilders are constructing the non-self-propelled NBL-91 project vessel.
Pallada plant (Kherson) is producing parts. The plant has delivered 114 tons of parts (33 % of the total amount) to Mykolayiv.
This enabled NIBULON’s shipbuilders to produce an aft end, in particular unit No.1, sections of units No.2-3. They also continue producing hull assemblies.
The specialists purchase ship’s equipment, in particular anchors, chains, and deck equipment.
