Ukrainian Business Faced Challenges in 2015. NIBULON Overcame Them with Dignity.

CONSTRUCTION OF NIBULON’S OWN CARGO FLEET AND SHIPBUILDING REVIVAL
In 2015, the company continued implementing its program to revive Ukrainian navigation and shipbuilding.
NIBULON’s activity is a unique example, when the agrarian company achieves leading positions in the marine and economic sector. The company’s success in reviving domestic shipbuilding and river navigation was acknowledged by sectoral rankings. Thus, in March 2015, NIBULON won the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine under the categories “Golden berth 2014”, “Fleet renovation 2014” (Odesa city).
At present NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard is the only one in Ukraine that constructs complete vessels. At present the shipbuilders are constructing NIBULON’s cargo fleet. In particular, in 2015, NIBULON constructed and put into operation three tugs (121 project): Kremenchutskyi, Kozatskyi, and Pereiaslavskyi which were officially keel-laid in August 2014 under the chairmanship of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

In addition, in 2015, NIBULON constructed two non-self-propelled vessels (NBL-91 project). The given vessels are designed for cargo transportation by river, as they have lightweight hatch cover and lower draught. These very vessels will transport grain crops by shallow rivers, in particular along the Southern Bug. In July 2015, NIBULON launched its first non-self-propelled vessel (NBL-91 project). The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko participated in launching the second vessel and keel-laying the third one (NBL-91 project) in October 2015.

At present the company finishes the construction of the third non-self-propelled vessel (NBL-91 project) and Nibulonivets non-self-propelled floating crane that was launched for outfitting. The floating crane with a capacity of 5 thousand tons per day will be used for loading/unloading operations in the roads and at the transshipment terminal. In order to perform these operations, NIBULON purchased a Terex Fuchs MHL 385 D loading machine produced by Terex Deutschland GmbH (Germany). The loader, with a capacity from 4 to 6 thousand tons per day, is the only one in Ukraine and the most productive one in the Black Sea region.

On October 16, 2015, visiting NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, the President of Ukraine personally gave a start to dredging works on the Southern Bug which NIBULON had decided to perform itself. At present NIBULON dredged separate areas of the Southern Bug to the design depth existed in 1991. NIBULON started dredging from Sapetnya village in Mykolayiv district towards Gurivka village in Nova Odesa district. The company has already dredged more than 23 km. The depth of navigation pass was increased from 1.7 m to 2.4 m.

Under the chairmanship of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, NIBULON gave a start to the construction of the transshipment terminal in Buzke village (Voznesensk district) which is planned to be put into operation in the first half-year of 2016. The construction costs USD 20 thousand. At present the company has completed to ram 722 piles. NIBULON used intensified 27-m piles produced at Mykolayiv Ferroconcrete Products Plant. Please note that the mean height of a nine-storey building in Ukraine is 29 m.

AGRICUTURAL COMMODITY PRODUCTION
In the last five years, a yield level in the fields cultivated by NIBULON significantly exceeds the average one across Ukraine. In particular, in the 2015 season, NIBULON’s branches grew about 310 thousand tons of agricultural commodities. The company achieved the highest result in production of early grain crops and second one in a crop yield in its history. In the current season, NIBULON has harvested more than 134.2 thousand tons of early grain crops. Till now, the highest result was demonstrated by NIBULON in 2009. The company increased the yield of early grain group up to 43.3 dt/ha.
NIBULON also increased late grain crops yield. “Chygyryn” branch (Cherkasy region) is a record breaker in a gross yield of late grain crops. The branch demonstrated maximal indices of corn yield: yield and gross yield are 86.5 dt/ha and 28.6 thousand tons, respectively. It is NIBULON’s absolute record. “Chygyryn” branch is a leader in the 2015 agrarian season, having achieved the gross yield of early and late grain crops of 47.9 thousand tons.

 In 2015, NIBULON purchased 10 Case and JohnDeere grain harvesters as well as 8 Fendt tractors.

NIBULON IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA
China (2,8%),Thailand (1,2%) and Mexico (1,05%) were new export markets for NIBULON in 2014/15 MY. Mexico is worth noticing in terms of its geographical distance from Ukraine and its proximity to the leading agricultural producers, such as the USA and Argentina, that traditionally lead on the Western hemisphere markets. In 2014/15 MY, NIBULON’s export geography covered 30 countries worldwide.
According to the results of 2015, NIBULON’s Group maintains leading positions in grain exports. The total results in 2014/15 MY were 4.2 million tons, demonstrating absolute leadership of NIBULON among Ukrainian grain and oilseeds exporters. During the first five months of the current 2015/16 MY, NIBULON’s Group exported 2.22 million tons of agricultural commodities. The company plans to export 2.64 million tons of agricultural commodities in the first half-year of 2015/16 MY.
In March 2015, NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy participated in the Ukrainian-American Agrarian Congress in the USA which aimed at searching for ways to implement the Ukrainian agrarian potential. As part of his working visit to the USA, NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy negotiated with the management from ExportImport Bank of the United States, IFC, representatives of the U.S. Grains Council as well as managers of companies that produce U.S. elevator equipment.

In March 2015, NIBULON’s specialists together with grain market specialists from 25 countries of Middle East, North Africa and Europe participated in the Middle East Grain Congress in Egypt. Egypt is a very important direction for NIBULON’s export activity. Egypt is one of the world’s largest corn importers. The very NIBULON opened Egyptian market for Ukrainian corn. Today these partnership positions are strengthening. According to the results of 2014/15 MY, Egypt imported every 4th ton of grain shipped by NIBULON.
In June 2015, during his trip to Europe, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy met with the Chairman of the Supervisory Board and the Owner of the Soufflet Group Michel Soufflet. Michel Soufflet was ready to familiarize NIBULON’s specialists with his facilities, in particular elevators on water and also to demonstrate river transportation practice.

In November 2015, NIBULON’s specialists headed by the General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy participated in the annual Global Grain Geneva 2015 conference in Switzerland. This event is a key one for grain market participants. The conference traditionally invited leading agribusiness players across the world, in particular NIBULON – a leader in Ukrainian agro-export market. The company’s delegation actively participated in the conference, having held a number of negotiations and business meetings.
At the end of 2015, the trade logistics delegation of the World Bank Group visited NIBULON. The delegation aimed to study procedural and administrative obstacles preventing the development of efficient trade’s import-export flows of agrarian products (in particular grain crops) as well as material and technical resources in the port and river sectors of Ukraine. They discussed urgent problems in the Ukrainian trade logistics, announced by NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
YEAR OF ACHIEVEMENTS
The company continues achieving new results in these hard times.
2015 was a year of records for NIBULON. In the first quarter, the elevator complexes of “Reshetylivs’ka” branch (Poltava region) and “Zolotonis’ka” branch (Cherkasy region) reached the one-million ton mark of grain each.
At the end of June, St. Mykolai floating crane constructed in July 2013 reached the two-million-ton mark of grain and oilseeds loaded, having shipped Ukrainian agricultural commodities on 141 motor ships.

NIBULON successfully implemented an efficient management system. Since 2015, the company has started a multiple project to implement corporate management system that provides for phased improvement of management in the main areas of economic and production activities.
RECOGNITION
NIBULON was acknowledged at the state and international levels due to its contribution to develop agriculture.
Thus, according to the results of Mykolayiv city program “Citizen of the year”, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy won under the category “Assistance to the Ukrainian army” and Deputy General Director of Fleet Construction, Fleet Operation and Navigation Safety Andriy Volik – under the category “Industry and transport” in 2014.

In October 2015, Deloitte company analyzed financial indicators of the largest companies in Central and Eastern Europe. According to the results, NIBULON demonstrated an increase in its income, having entered the first part of companies represented in the ranking.

Today NIBULON is one of the key domestic investors, an agricultural producer and the largest exporter of grain and oilseeds. It is one of the largest taxpayers in the agrarian sector. The company revives shipbuilding, develops and improves logistics, revives cargo transportation along the Dnipro and the Southern Bug. Our company demonstrates economic and infrastructure potential of Ukraine as well as desire to improve itself and implement innovations. Those principles to be established today will be the basis of a new model of the Ukrainian economy.

Андрій Вадатурський став генеральним директором «НІБУЛОНу» після понад 15 років роботи в компанії — в липні 2022 року.

Він прийняв цю посаду після трагічної загибелі свого батька та засновника «НІБУЛОНу» Олексія Вадатурського разом із матір’ю Раїсою Вадатурською під час російського ракетного удару по їхньому дому в Миколаєві.

З 2014 до 2019 рік був народним депутатом України від одномандатного округу в Миколаївській області та членом Комітету з питань аграрної політики. У 2017 році створив і очолив велику міжпартійну групу, яка виступала за розвиток українських річок як транспортного засобу.  

Має ступінь магістра електротехніки Українського державного морського технічного університету та ступінь магістра економіки промисловості Лондонської школи економіки. У 2009 році за вагомий внесок у розвиток агропромислового комплексу України був нагороджений Президентом України, йому присвоєно звання «Заслужений працівник сільського господарства».

Одружений, має трьох дітей.
