While reviving the existing navigable waterways (as part of NIBULON’s investment project to revive navigation along the Ukrainian rivers started in 2009), the company are taking measures to prevent natural resources deterioration. Fish stocking is the main method of such measures.
In November 2015, NIBULON as a performer of living water resources reproduction financed fish stocking that was carried out under the supervision of the special committee (representatives from the Department of Protection, Use and Reproduction of Bioresources and Fishery Regulation in Kherson Region, the State Environmental Inspection in Kherson as well as Kozatske village council).
As part of compensatory measures, because of maintenance works (mud cleaning) in the water area and access channel to the “Kozats’ka” branch cargo berth in Kozatske village, NIBULON put almost 1.6 tons of herbivorous fish (a two-year-old silver carp – 10,130 units) in the Kazak River, worth of more than UAH 45 thousand.
It should be mentioned that since 2009, NIBULON has been implementing compensatory measures to reproduce water bioresources at all stages of its investment project. The company allocates funds to the local budgets, and it puts fish in rivers and reservoirs in recent years.
