On October 16, 2015, NIBULON gave a start to this construction with the participation of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. That day the President visited NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, where he participated in a number of events being important for Mykolayiv region.
“Each my arrival at NIBULON is another important labour victory, another stage to strengthen Ukrainian shipbuilding, engineering industry and logistics – to strengthen Ukraine”, mentioned the President.
Today NIBULON keeps implementing its multiple program to revive the Southern Bug as main transport artery in Mykolayiv region. People from more than 10 settlements on the left and right banks of the Southern Bug participated in the official event in Buzke village. They sincerely supported the beginning of NIBULON’s terminal construction.
“I got my first job in Trykraty station (Oleksandrivka village council, Voznesensk district), said NIBULON’s General Director, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. “My best adolescent years are connected with those years. This was a period of my professional formation. I thank for obtaining a priceless experience, working together with you and mastering new production at Trykraty bread product plant. Together we have learnt how to struggle and to survive difficult times. Thus, today it is very pleasant for me to be here as an investor and manager of the successful company in order to construct new modern terminal. It is the beginning of a good deed. NIBULON will receive grain from farmers in the shortest possible way, and then the company will transport grain to Mykolayiv by river without destroying highways”.
On October 22, NIBULON itself started dredging the Southern Bug from Sapetnya village (Mykolayiv region). NIBULON is reviving the main waterway in Mykolayiv region. Today the river’s depth in Voznesensk region is 1.30 m, and it was 3 m twenty-five years ago. The river became shallow. The company plans to dredge the river near Voznesnesk and start dredging the Mertvovod River next autumn. The advantages for Voznesensk region are as follows: up to 1 million tons of building materials will be transported to Mykolayiv city; plants that produce granite and broken stone will start operating; about 1 million tons of grain (which represents the same volume as would be transported by 50 thousand trucks) will be transported from Voznesensk, Permovaisk and Kirovograd regions. From now on passenger vessels are being built. They will sail along the Southern Bug, connecting Novokantakuzivka village, Buzke village as well as villages on the right bank of the Southern Bug with Voznesensk district and Nova Odesa town.
According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, NIBULON planned to implement this project six years ago. But the company could not obtain a permit to perform dredging. “Due to the fact that new authorities came to power, NIBULON obtained all the required permits to dredge in less than a year. Consequently, all the construction activities performed by NIBULON are considered legitimate”.
Modern high-tech computerized equipment in Buzke village will become the third elevator complex constructed by NIBULON in Mykolayiv region and the second terminal on the Southern Bug. The terminal will be constructed till June 01, 2016.
Oleksiy Vadaturskyy gave the director of “Prybuzhanivs’ka” branch a declaration on the commencement of construction activities. Ramming the first pile was one of the most important moments, symbolizing construction commencement.
According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, the company will ram 2,700 piles. Ferroconcrete plants in Mykolayiv and Voznesensk will have workload. The company will pour concrete on the area being equivalent to 5 km of road (9 m width). NIBULON will mount about 3 thousand tons of metal structures which is equivalent to more than 25 rail cars. The company will involve about 45 construction organizations as well as 1,500 employees during the construction period.
“You will be able to see with your own eyes NIBULON’s pace of work and construction standards”. Your villages will be revived; you will receive new investments and new workplaces. Thus, I am sure that everybody will feel positive changes”, he stressed.
NIBULON revives settlements and gives them a second breath. Implementing modern energy-saving technologies, the company pays particular attention to the social infrastructure development in villages and settlements. NIBULON preserves and improves the environmental condition. The head of Voznesensk District State Administration Natalya Balanyuk supports new project,
“Today I see not only representatives from Buzke village council but also from Doroshivka, Oleksandrivka and Prybuzhany village councils. The entire district is interested in implementing this investment project, no matter on which area this terminal is constructed. Everyone will obtain benefits: workplaces, additional funds to the budget, maintenance of kindergartens. We won’t have to close libraries, schools and other social institutions”.
Natalya Balanyuk recollected when she had received a declaration on the commencement of construction activities in 2010, holding a position of the village head. Unfortunately, construction was postponed till 2015. “I am happy; my heart is singing; the sun is shining, and we are not afraid of any obstacles”. Really good activities bring inspiration and hope. Companies like NIBULON never give up despite any difficulties”.
“If we did not make concessions, this holiday would not occur”, mentioned Vitaliy Lukov, Voznesensk mayor. He told that the town had had legal proceedings with the district for this land for many years. “But we took the first step and refused any complaints. We have realized that everyone will obtain benefits, having such an investor and capital. Let us be happy about this great event. I hope we will meet the first non-self-propelled vessel together”.
