Both the personnel from subdivisions of the Fire and Rescue Service of Beryslav district (Kherson region) and the terminal’s voluntary fire brigade participated in the contest.
The Head of Beryslav District State Administration Natalya Stadnik, Deputy Head of the Chief Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kherson region Kateryna Gavrylova and “Kozats’ka” branch director Bogdan Muzyka visited the event.
NIBULON’s facility is a high-capacity European transshipment terminal that specializes in storing and shipping grain and oilseed crops on river transport. The terminal occupies the territory of more than seven hectares; the total grain storage capacity is 76 thousand tons. Thus, such a high-capacity industrial facility requires special attention from the Fire and Rescue Service.
According to the tactical plan, a simulated fire started in the grain cleaning elevator tower. The given facility has combustible materials and also different electric traction gears with revolving parts, causing rapid spread of fire. Grain dust is also very dangerous.
The automatic fire-alarm system, installed at each NIBULON’s facility, detected the “fire”. The members of the voluntary fire brigade with a fire-fighting truck and all necessary fire-fighting equipment at the terminal were the first to start fire extinguishing. Meanwhile, the local fire and rescue service came to help NIBULON’s brigade.
By the time the fire brigade of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Station of Beryslav district arrived, the simulated fire spread to several service floors.
The firemen extinguished the fire from several flanks: the firemen from the State Fire and Rescue Station worked inside the elevator tower, and other departments cooled storages from the outside.  Thus, “the fire” was extinguished in time according to the current standards.
All the participants and representatives of governmental bodies agreed that fire and tactical trainings were held at high level. It should be noted that NIBULON regularly conducts such combined trainings at its branches. And nonmilitary fire-fighting brigades regularly take prize-winning places in the district and regional fire-applied sports contests.
