Despite the importance of the given event testifying the revival of the Ukrainian shipbuilding sector, NIBULON’s management decided to launch the vessel without solemnities.
On April 23, 2015, the head of the Shipping Register of Ukraine Kyrylo Shalamay and director of the regional representative office of the Shipping Register of Ukraine in Mykolayiv city Sergiy Nazarov (photo No.3 – second and third from the left respectively) were present during the launching of Kozatskyi tug. Having familiarized themselves with the construction progress, they controlled technological part of launching. They noted well-coordinated work and professionalism of NIBULON’s shipbuilders who followed all normative requirements of the State Classification Society.
The specialists started outfitting on board, in particular assembly of electric equipment, gears, etc.
On April 28, 2015, NIBULON launched the second vessel of the project – Pereiaslavskyi tug. Valentyna Romanchuk, a crane operator and a vessel’s godmother, symbolically broke a champagne bottle against the vessel’s side. Students from Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies who visited NIBULON shipyard that day congratulated its employees.
At present the shipbuilders continue to form hull of the first non-self-propelled vessel (NBL-91 project) at the shipyard.
Thus, Pereyaslavskyi tug (the second vessel of the project) will be launched soon.
Mykolayiv city will celebrate a symbolic shipbuilding event. The third vessel (Kremenchutskyi tug) will be launched. This will testify the final stage of construction of the first series of tugs (new project) and the beginning of construction of non-self-propelled vessels (new series).
It should be noted that the given tugs are modern high-tech vessels designed exclusively for NIBULON. Navigation area is inland waterways of Ukraine; the vessels have mixed class of navigation and meet the requirements of the EU environmental legislation. The vessels were designed by the Ukrainian design company “SUDOKOMPOSIT”.
In May, the three tugs will join NIBULON’s fleet family after mooring and sea trials and on receipt of the appropriate class of the Shipping Register of Ukraine.
And at the beginning of the 2015/16 marketing year, the three non-self-propelled vessels (NBL-91 project) will join the tugs in order to transport grain along Ukrainian waterways.
