NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy met with the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. During the meeting, they discussed the prospects of NIBULON’s participation in tenders on an equal basis with other companies held by South Korea and also the possibilities for South Korean companies to participate in charitable programs in Mykolayiv region.
Valeriy Kunytskyy, a head of foreign economic relations and marketing department, who accompanied a colleague told about NIBULON’s activities. Overcoming serious obstacles to develop the economy, NIBULON is implementing its own development concept built upon the principles of efficient combination and coordination of work between the company’s production branches and its administrative sector.
Having visited NIBULON’s transshipment terminal and familiarized herself with the terminal’s operation, the South Korean specialist expressed her truly delight with one of the main NIBULON’s facilities. She particularly noted a modern conveyer and transport system, an automated system to control cargo flows. This system enables the company to move a large number of agricultural commodities in a short period of time.
She was interested in grain drying technology that guarantees high quality of grain, by using up-to-date processing equipment (South Korea is one of the main world corn importers). The foreign guest studied the production and technological laboratory, its chemical and biological unit that performs high-quality analysis of GMO presence which is extremely important taking into consideration the requirements of agricultural commodity importers.
The Republic of Korea is one of the leaders in the global shipbuilding. An excursion to NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard motivated Choi Jin Hyoung to discuss possible cooperation in this sector, in particular, to supply equipment in order to construct vessels that join NIBULON’s fleet family. The guest was particularly impressed by the agricultural company that revives shipbuilding, while other shipyards are facing a deep crisis.
Andriy Volik, NIBULON’s deputy general director of fleet operation, construction and navigation safety, informed about the shipping company (9 tugs out of which 2 tugs were constructed at own shipyard, 28 non-self-propelled vessels, St. Mykolai transshipment crane, plus a dredger), demonstrated the construction of three tugs (121 project) and three non-self-propelled vessels (NBL-91 project). In order to be convinced of high-quality shipbuilding, the South Korean specialist visited one of the tugs constructed and operated by NIBULON.
The Deputy Commercial Attaché said, “I heard of your company two years ago, when I visited Ukraine. Firstly, I thought your company was engaged only in cultivating grain, but now I realize that our cooperation in the shipbuilding sector is possible. Frankly speaking, I am impressed by your shipyard. NIBULON managed to revive the shipyard and to organize vessel construction in a short period of time”.
According to her, there are prospects for cooperation with companies such as Hyundai, Daewoo and POSKO due to NIBULON’s professional activities, its international authority as a diversified company and leading grain exporter in Ukraine.
