NIBULON, building its own fleet at its shipyard can be rightfully called a pioneer in the agrarian shipbuilding of Ukraine.
Considering that shipyards do not operate efficiently in Ukraine and NIBULON implements its investment program to revive the Dnipro and the Southern Bug as transport arteries of Ukraine, the company had to purchase a property complex of Mykolaiv shipbuilding yard. At present the company is reconstructing the existing facilities at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, where the company’s cargo fleet is being built. Its goal is to ensure repair and maintenance of the company’s fleet, as well as the construction of a technological line to build vessels with the displacement of up to 5 thousand tons to develop the company's logistics.
The shipyard's first orders are the NIBULON-5 and NIBULON-6 tugs (POSS-115 project) built by more than 250 workers hired from other shipyards in Mykolaiv city. The shipyard operates in two shifts and without weekends. The production program with a 100% workload for future five years has been developed and has successfully been implemented at the shipyard. The company plans to build at its own shipyard 12 shallow-draught tugs of 12 thousand h.p. (121 project), 12 non-self-propelled vessels with the total deadweight of 48 thousand tons (NBL-91 project) and 35 self-propelled vessels of “Volgo Don Max” type with the total deadweight of 175 thousand tons.
In addition to building vessels for its own needs, the shipyard also offers ship repair services. Thus, in September 2014 there were performed repair works on Zapravshik-10 vessel built in 1991 with the deadweight of 129 tons belonged to VIK OIL Ltd.
Ship repair included works on a slip:
– hull part: defectoscopy of hull with measuring its plating thickness; dismantling, rubbing and mounting of Kingston valves; cleaning of hull (sandblast); 2 layer painting; repair of fender bar and deck pillar; metal replacement on hull outer plating;
– mechanical part: dismantling, inspection and assembly of propeller shaft, its centering; pressing-out and press-fitting of after and bow bush of deadwood; dismantling and assembly, inspection of stock; inspection of main starting bottles of compressed air with fittings, reducing valves, their inspection and hydraulic test.
On completion of all works, they were submitted for approval to the Shipping Register of Ukraine, and then the vessel was launched and delivered to the customer.
