Grain quality at NIBULON’s elevator complexes is ensured by 23 modern production and technological laboratories in different regions of Ukraine. Daily monitoring and work analysis of these modern laboratories are performed by the department of ensuring product quality and storage.
“The department is engaged in daily monitoring, controlling, processing information as to quality of grain received by the elevators and making decisions as to receipt and storage of grain on-line”, tells Oleksandr Hohlov, deputy general director on ensuring product quality and storage, “Thus, we ensure product quality control from grain harvesting to its shipment for export. Based on our analysis and data, other departments of the company, dealing with agricultural commodity purchase and trade, make decisions”. The company is certified according to the European systems ISCC and RBSA, but we do not stop at what has been accomplished. At present new international standards are implemented at NIBULON.
“We are engaged in planning and organizing work of the company’s laboratories, equipping with up-to-date equipment, providing with normative documents, carrying out certifications, developing measures to improve and preserve grain quality”, stresses Tetyana Kalyta, a head of the department of quality arrangement and control.
Anna Aseeva, an engineer of the department, has been working at NIBULON for almost 5 years, but she still recollects one of the most responsible days in her professional activity – the first elevator certification performed by her personally, “I will never forget it. It was a laboratory of the newly built transshipment terminal in Kamyanka-Dniprovska town of Zaporizhzhya region. I remember being worried. I wanted everything to be perfectly”.
Perfectly and not otherwise! “All 23 NIBULON’s laboratories are equipped with up-to-date equipment that is used to determine grain quality indices accurately and quickly; process automation of laboratory documentation management gives the opportunity to reduce human factor influence on measurement data”, tells Nina Kravets, an adviser of the department of ensuring product quality and storage.
Nina Kravets, a real professional with a 40-year experience, mentions that today the quality department and NIBULON’s laboratories have perspective specialists who are interested in their work and new knowledge, “Unfortunately, educational institutions do not provide with such skills which are necessary in practice. Consequently, self-education and desire for development are prior for our young specialists”.
Nina Kravets tells, “Before coming to NIBULON, I have heard a lot about NIBULON while working at the company that provided NIBULON with agricultural commodity storage services. I saw perspective and professional advancement at NIBULON. For 15 years of work I have never been sorry for my choice, as here the most symbolic events of my life have happened: transshipment terminal construction, loading of the first vessel, creation of a network of unique elevators and transshipment terminals”.
“Every day we improve the work level of our laboratories, constantly perform trainings and improve competence of the employees who work at the production and technological laboratories of the branches”, tells Olena Leshko, a quality engineer, “The production and technological laboratory of our transshipment terminal was recognized by the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), accredited by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine in compliance with the requirements DSTU ISO/IEC 17025:2006. The specialists of the department of quality organization and control actively participate in implementing all innovations.
Olena Leshko appreciates her job for the possibility to work for the sake of the common cause.
Anna Aseeva managed to see NIBULON’s transshipment terminal five years ago when she studied at Mykolayiv National Agrarian University, “Together with my fellow students we visited the company’s transshipment terminal. I am still impressed by this unique complex. At that time many of us did not even dream to work at such a large company with its unique laboratory. You know that good job is offered to those who have operational experience. Many of my colleagues and I got a job at NIBULON after graduating from the university. I appreciate my team: there are a lot of highly-skilled young people here who try to obtain new knowledge. This allows us to study constantly and improve professionally”.
“We work according to the highest standards and try to achieve high results”, says Oleksandr Hohlov proudly, “At present we export agricultural commodities to the countries with the strictest grain quality requirements. Perfect grain quality is NIBULON’s visit card.
