The terminal in Chyrske village will ship up to 250 thousand tons of grain crops on river transport annually. The project to revive the DniproRiver as well as to construct NIBULON’s fleet will enable NIBULON to transport up to 3 million tons of grain crops along the DniproRiver annually, thereby removing about 46 thousand railcars or about 120 thousand trucks. Agrarians will get more than UAH 4 billion due to the project implementation. This amount includes both logistics saving and higher purchase prices at NIBULON’s branches as compared with its competitors.
“Pereyaslavs’ka” branch constructed within 3 months has become the second elevator complex in Kyiv region. In December 2011, NIBULON put into operation the elevator of “Denyhivs’ka” branch – the largest one in Tetiyivka district. The company invested more than USD 20 million in its construction.
Traditionally, NIBULON’s high achievements are accompanied by a high social component – NIBULON’s well-known social standard. According to Oleksandr Tur, a head of Gaichyn village council with Chyrs’ke village being a part of it, the company has already invested more than half a million UAH in the village infrastructure. The funds were directed to reconstruct roads, construct new ones, repair school and kindergarten, and to purchase cars for the district emergency station and the district administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The international partners, such as the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Danish Export Credit Fund, the Export-Credit Bank of the USA, the governments of the USA, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark that give loans to NIBULON highly appreciate the project.
The head of the International Finance Corporation Representative Office in Ukraine Olena Voloshyna mentioned that NIBULON is one of the most progressive companies with the ambitious employees “who set goals and achieve them”. “This is the company that creates a positive image of the Ukrainian business abroad. And every bank can be rightfully proud of having NIBULON as a client”, she mentioned.
Graham Hutchison, EBRD deputy director for Ukraine, announced that the EBRD Board of Directors had decided to allocate a credit line of USD 130 million to NIBULON.
NIBULON’s activities are known worldwide, and in Switzerland there is a company entering NIBULON’s group. According to the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Ukraine Christian Schoenenberger, NIBULON’s activities are a model example of successful business which brings currency to the country, pays all taxes, and is engaged in long-term strategic projects.
“It was pleasant to hear that strategies of both the government and NIBULON concerning investment climate and agricultural sector development coincide. We hope that the Prime Minister’s words to improve the investment climate will be implemented”, the Ambassador announced during an official opening of the terminal in Chyrske village.
The Acting Economic Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Elizabeth Horst, mentioned that NIBULON’s projects demonstrated that the Ukrainian state could give a lot of things to the world on the threshold of the global food crisis challenges.
The Head of the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers and the President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Leonid Kozachenko added that thanks to NIBULON’s participation in the UN World Food Programs, each employee at the company as well as every agrarian supplying grain to the elevators can become participants of the global struggle against starvation.
In his turn, NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy thanked those people for assisting and supporting NIBULON’s patriotic investment project to revive the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers as transport waterways of the country, and also for supporting the development of the grain market infrastructure.
“Our company is able to do it. We need to avoid bureaucratic obstacles. We are reviving the Dnipro River at the regional level”, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy noted.
He emphasized that the company, headed by him, did not receive any financial support or any benefits from the state. “Our company does not use any benefits; our company is a leader in tax payment in the agricultural sector and a leader in the construction of vessels and berthing structures. We have constructed a kilometre of berthing structures. If we put together all our vessels, we will have a 3 km fleet”, NIBULON’s General Director mentioned.
“Our company is used to working and not to speaking. We do not speak much about investment attraction, we attract it. During the last 3 years we constructed 8 facilities, fleet and we make everything so that Ukraine may become a maritime state and not a country at the seaside! We are constructing vessels from Ukrainian metal; they fly Ukraine’s flag and are registered by the Ukrainian Shipping Register. Today we do not speak about the image of Ukraine, but today we raise it”, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy stressed.
According to him, the government should assist in granting a national status to the project to revive cargo navigation along the Dnipro and the Southern Bug. It is very important for the company as well as for the country. “We do not need any money and benefits from the state. But it is a great moral support that will decrease bureaucracy considerably and will help us to invest in new workplaces, new infrastructure for the agriculture, new economic breaks for Ukraine”, NIBULON’s General Director summed up.
