Only two months passed since the shipyard launched the first B5000 project vessel. It was a real historical event as at the moment of the property complex acquisition in August 2012 and creation of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard it constructed vessels of 70 m. The large-scale reconstruction of the shipyard, in particular the slipway reconstruction held with the support of the long-term reliable partner – the European Investment Bank – made the construction and maintenance of the vessels with the length of up to 101 m at NIBULON’s shipyard possible.The launching was held in the working atmosphere, as now NIBULON’s shipbuilders are constructing seven vessels; so they do not waste time, especially on the eve of the opening of the 24th International Exhibition “Shipbuilding-2018” and the 16th Specialized Exhibition “Water Transport”. The opening will take place on May 23. During the ceremony, NIBULON will launch the first multipurpose T3500 project tug.Liudmyla Chernenko, a vessel inspector and experienced employee, became the vessel’s godmother, who symbolically broke champagne bottles against the vessel’s side.We would remind you that the B5000 project vessels are non-self-propelled vessels with cargo capacity of 5,000 tons; these are river-sea vessels with two holds and improved operational qualities, in particular, the hydraulic system to drive the hatch covers opening/closing.  NIBULON’s specialists created the new improved project of non-self-propelled vessels with the breadth of 17 m based on the experience of the USA and Europe. The non-self-propelled vessels of the new project will improve the effectiveness of NIBULON’s fleet. The larger capacity of vessels will allow the company to deliver larger ship batches from NIBULON’s transshipment terminals on the Dnipro River, as well as from the transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv, to the outer roads, thereby increasing the volumes of river transportation and transshipment.The company plans to construct five more ways enabling the shipbuilders to construct vessels with the length of up to 140 m. It is the project length of a self-propelled floating vessel (P-140 project) with two cranes with a cargo capacity of 13,400 m3 and productivity of 18,000 tons per day; the shipbuilders have already started constructing it at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. In addition, NIBULON’s shipbuilders plan to construct four POSS-115 project vessels in 2018. Two of them will be launched in August and September respectively. In total, six vessels will be launched this year.In the coming years, the company intends to increase its fleet to 100 units, making it not only the largest, but also the most modern and effective one in Ukraine.
