We would remind you that the vessels are modern high-tech tugs designed for operation on inland water ways of Ukraine, have mixed navigation class and correspond to norms of the European Union environmental legislation. The tugs, like other units of the shipping company, are built from Ukrainian metal and sail under Ukraine’s flag. The vessels were designed by the Ukrainian design bureau “Torola Design Group”.

NIBULON-5:
– Total readiness is almost 35 %; outfitting work is being continued on the building berth.
– There has been started submission of spaces for approval; leak test has been commenced.
– Foundations of rudder-propellers are being prepared for mechanical treatment.
– In the engine room there is being finished installation of foundations for Mitsubishi main engines.
– There are being finished works on the erection joint of the units No.40 and 50 which have been jointed to the hull earlier.
– Bulwarks are being installed on the poop deck.
– Electrical-fitter equipment is being installed in the vessel’s spaces, and foundations of bumper protection are being installed.
– The specialists of the assembly-piping area submit spaces of sea chests and box coolers for testing; the spaces are being prepared for painting.
– Cable routings are being installed on the vessel.
NIBULON-6:
– Total readiness comprises almost 13 %.
– On the berth site there has been mounted the first vessel’s unit No.20.
– Units No.10 and 30 are being prepared for installation.
– Flanges and foundations are being manufactured on the mechanical-fitter area.
– There is being continued production of pipes for tanks of the bottom sections of the units No.20-40.
Glossary:
Poop is an aft superstructure where cargo spaces, or cabins for crew and passengers, or service spaces, and also elements of aft mooring and anchor gears are located.
Bumper is an elastic (often rubber) device used for protection of a vessel’s side from collision with a moorage wall or another vessel.
Sea chest is a chest where kingstons are installed: valves or bars to block access to a hull system which is connected with sea water.
Box cooler is a ship cooling system.
Bulwark is extension of a ship’s sides above the level of the deck.
