Last week on NIBULON-5 there were formed the most complicated hull structures, namely units No.10 (afterbody edge) and No.50 (forebody edge).
At present these works have entered active phase. In particular, there is being mounted framing of the unit No.10 that will include an afterpeak, a rudder-propeller system and its hydraulic gears, a central control station.
Concerning unit No.50 (that will include forepeak and water treatment spaces, fresh water tanks), the shipbuilders have mounted framing and started to install outer shell plates.
Foundations for rudder-propellers, marine pumps and fans are being manufactured.
The pipes of bilge and ballast system, air and sounding pipes are being produced; they are being prepared for installation on the vessel.
The first tug readiness has already exceeded 23 %, according to Anton Yurchenko, a leading specialist in project management of the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON”.
Works to form hull on the second tug NIBULON-6 are being continued.
Last week NIBULON’s shipbuilders mounted side sections of the unit No.20. Production of plane sections for the unit No.30 will be finished soon.
83 % of metal has already been processed at the plant “Leninska Kuznya”. Metal is delivered to Mykolayiv city according to approved schedule; its last ton will be delivered to the shipyard on February 28.
When hull formation is completed, the tug spaces will be checked against norms, standards and tested; deck equipment, electronic and radio-navigation equipment will be installed.
On starting preparatory works in November 2013, both vessels of the company will be built at its own shipyard within 35 and 39 weeks respectively.
