At own shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” the company continues to construct tugs of POSS-115 project – NIBULON-5 and NIBULON-6.
Despite holidays, construction did not stop not for day! Besides, the weather promotes work. Construction is in progress not only inside and assembly and welding area, but also outdoor.
It is the sixth week of construction. On the stocks unit No 20 of NIBULON-5 has been formed (manufacturing order 001). At the same time unit No 30 is being formed; assembly and welding work to produce subsections of units No 10, 40, 50 is being continued. There has been started assembly and welding work on assembly jointing of No 20 and 30. Hull pipes and elements of mechanical-locksmith’s part are being manufactured; pipeline installation in sections has been started.
Readiness of the first tug comprises 14 %. As about NIBULON-6 (manufacturing order 002), this figure is almost 2 %. Metal cutting is being completed at Kyiv plant “Leninska Kuznya”; last batches of metal are being delivered to the shipyard. Soon subassembly will be started on the second vessel.
54 Mykolayiv shipbuilders have been involved in construction, later they will be joined by 21 representatives of Mykolayiv contractors (Khladotechnica Ltd, ISD Ltd, and others) and 9 foreign contractors (Berg, Mitsubishi, Volvo-Penta, Alpha-Laval, Aalborg, and others).
NIBULON, having started preparatory works in November 2013, will construct both tugs within 35 and 39 weeks respectively, i.e. till July 01, 2014 (the beginning of a new marketing year).
We would remind you that laying of bottom sections (No 2001 of unit No 20 of NIBULON-5, No 3001 of unit No 30 of NIBULON-6) was performed on December 05, symbolizing the beginning of full-fledged construction of vessels.
When construction of two tugs is completed, the company will start to implement a number of other own shipbuilding orders: a series of river tugs of POSS-120 project, non-self-propelled vessels of NBL-91 project, self-propelled vessels of “Volgo Don Max” class.
