The company pays much attention to environmental aspects of its investment project to revive navigation on the Dnipro River and the Southern Buh River. Being a socially responsible company, NIBULON implements its own high ecological standard. As part of the standard, the company regularly takes measures to prevent natural resources deterioration. Fish stocking is one of the measures.  The company has implemented compensatory measures to the amount of about UAH 2 million during the period of the investment project implementation. As a result, in 2009-2017, the company stocked the areas where the elevators were built (the Dnipro River, the Southern Buh River, the Kakhovka Reservoir, the Kaniv Reservoir, and the Kremenchuk Reservoir) with almost 50 tons of silver carp and carp.
As Iryna Ploshnyk, an engineer from NIBULON’s environmental protection department, told, NIBULON has been performing compensatory measures on the Dnipro River since 2009. The company has already performed fish stocking 13 times.
The fish stocking of the Dnipro River was held in Hola Prystan town, where the company ceremoniously put into operation its new terminal in July. The loading, quality and quantity of fry, as well was as stocking itself was supervised by representatives from the Department of Protection, Use and Reproduction of Bioresources and Fishery Regulation in Kherson Region, citizens of Hola Prystan. Oleksandr Babych, Hola Prystan mayor, also supported the environmentally responsible policy of NIBULON.
“We perform fish stocking in Kherson region by putting six-month fry of silver carp, grass carp and carp. The company bought 545.91 kg (average weight is 30 g) from HOLUBA NYVA agricultural fishery cooperative (Mykolaiv region, Nova Odesa district, Troitske village) on a contract basis”, said Ivan Shutak, a chief engineer of “Holoprystans’ka” branch.
These measures will have a positive impact on the preservation of the Dnipro River ecosystem. Conscious attitude towards nature is NIBULON’s standard.
We would remind you that NIBULON allocates considerable financial resources for environment protection. More than UAH 183 million was spent by the company from 2009 to 2016 to protect the environment and to support the ecological budgets at all levels of government; in 2016, the company spent UAH 44 million to this end.
