On October 31, 2017, Volodymyr Klymenko, NIBULON’s Deputy General Director for Interaction with Public Authorities, stated during his speech at a round-table discussion “Agrarian Ukraine. Concept of the World’s Priority” that the company planned to perform experimental dredging on the Dnipro River from November 1 till November 4.
As reported earlier, the unique high-capacity self-propelled SDS-15 dredger MYKOLAIVETS was built at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard.
The vessel has already completed sea trials; it has been put into operation and is ready to perform dredging. It is equipped with an excavator with a hydraulic hammer capable of crushing rocks, as well as with a hydraulic pump station, which can transfer 2,000 m3 of pulp per hour to a distance of 1.5 km. MYKOLAIVETS can operate at depths of up to 15 meters – with a bucket, a milling cutter and a hydraulic hammer. The unique Ukrainian vessel will allow us to deepen the Dnipro River and the Southern Buh River. We have repeatedly stated about the readiness to perform this work.
During 2012-2015 we received all necessary permits, and they are valid. In view of certain changes in the legislation, and in order not to give reasons to ill-wishers and so-called armchair experts for self-promotion and to discredit our company, we initiated the update of the documents. NIBULON is a law-abiding company, so both local communities and relevant state authorities were informed about dredging.
Thus, the statement about dredging the limiting areas of the Dnipro and Dniprodzerzhynsk Reservoirs from November 1 to November 4 is premature and mistaken.
Only upon receiving the updated documents, we will perform experimental dredging on the Dnipro River. Representatives of the authorities and mass media, as well as public activists and local community will have the opportunity to observe the course of the dredging. We will inform the community about further developments.
