It is planned to finish the elevator complex construction at NIBULON’s transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv in mid-February and to finish the reconstruction of the cargo berth by March 1, 2018.
The bridges from the eighth bucket elevator to the headhouse over the silos 16-17 are installed. The first silos (15-16) are lifted up. The builders are constructing the walls and bottom of a lower gallery (silos 18 and 19).
An important feature of this facility is that the works are carried out during the operation of the terminal. Therefore, at the construction site there is the unique equipment – a lifting crane of 90 tons (earlier the company used cranes of 40 tons).
This construction site has its own records. The builders poured 500 m of concrete of the berth slab of the section No. 10 a day. We would remind you that the length of the cargo berth will be increased to 222 m. Due to this, the total length of waterside at the transshipment terminal will comprise almost 800 m, thereby enabling it to serve up to five vessels simultaneously.
The operation of the new transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv will enable the company to use its fleet that was built at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard more effectively. Upon construction completion of the elevator complex and berth, it will be used as a mode of transport to transport agricultural commodity and other cargoes; it will not be a facility to store products on water.
