A message from Andriy Vadaturskyi on the occasion of NIBULON’s 34rd birthday

Dear colleagues, partners, and friends of our company,

Today, NIBULON marks its 34th anniversary.

This is more than just a date — it is yet another proof of our resilience, our ability to adapt, and our determination to build the future even in the most challenging circumstances.

Born in the Storm

Our company was founded in December 1991, at a moment when the country was only beginning its path to independence. There was no stable currency, no banking system, no logistics, no grain market, and no export infrastructure. Hyperinflation, the collapse of production chains, economic breakdown — it was a time in which a sustainable business was not meant to be born.

And yet, this is when NIBULON was established.

A company that, from its very first days, began building what did not yet exist in Ukraine: modern logistics, export infrastructure, cooperation with farmers, a river fleet, and a new culture of agribusiness.

This shaped our DNA — to work where others see no opportunities, and to keep the course where others step aside.

Three Years of Full-Scale War: A Journey Through the Unknown

The fourth winter of the war is approaching. Ukraine — like NIBULON — has survived losses, strikes, and trials that make the world shudder.

We lost access to the ports of Mykolaiv and Kherson, our fleet, and part of our land.

We faced mine contamination, climate anomalies, and logistical breakdowns.

Yet the company did not stop.

During this time, we have:

  • Built a new terminal on the Danube and resumed exports;
  • Restructured agricultural production amid climate and wartime risks;
  • Established a Board of Directors and a new management system;
  • Restored the quality of our laboratories and the energy independence of our elevators;
  • Launched digital services and the NIBULON App for farmers;
  • Maintained jobs and continued support for local communities;
  • Invested at a time when most market players were scaling back.

We did not just survive; we took action. And it is precisely this that allowed the company to endure.

2025: New Challenges — New Solutions

The world and our country have changed. Climate anomalies, attacks on logistics infrastructure, declining margins, global competition, and Ukraine’s new economic landscape demand a complete rethink of our business model.

We are responding to these challenges:

  • Adaptive agricultural model for the South: alternative crops, irrigation, and seed production;
  • A new role for elevators: automation, SCADA systems, transparent quality, and efficiency;
  • Logistics with a greater share of in-house transport and international presence on the Danube;
  • A new trading model with international expertise, risk management, and digital services;
  • The NIBULON App as the core of modern farmer engagement.
  • Seeking a long-term financial solution that ensures stability and growth for the company.

We are not restoring the past — we are building NIBULON’s future model.

Our Impact: Why NIBULON Is a Strategic Asset for Ukraine

Every year, we export around 3.5 million tons of agricultural products. This volume is enough to feed 10–13 million people annually — roughly the population of the Czech Republic, Greece, or Portugal.

For the country, this means:

  • Stable foreign currency inflows;
  • Employment for over 2,000 people;
  • Support for 3,500 farming households;
  • Backing 15,000 landowners across 30 communities;
  • A vital contribution to global food security.

NIBULON is not just a business.
It is an infrastructure of resilience, a driver of regional development, and a continuation of Ukraine’s food legacy.

34 years ago, the company was born amid chaos. Today, we again operate amid uncertainty — but with the same strength that was instilled from the very beginning.

We are accountable to the people who work alongside us, to the communities, to the farmers, to our partners, and to our country.

Our mission is clear — to endure, to grow, and to build the future of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

I thank every member of the NIBULON team, our farmers, partners, international friends, and above all, the Armed Forces of Ukraine for making our work possible.

We know who we are.
We know where we come from.
And we know where we are going.

Together, we keep the course of the Grain Captain!

With respect,
Andriy Vadaturskyi
CEO, NIBULON
