A Few Days Left till the Opening of the Terminal in Ternivka

On June 19, NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy visited the construction site of the transshipment terminal in Ternivka (Zaporizhzhia region), where he personally examined the readiness of each object and held a production meeting with heads of contracting organizations for the prompt resolution of all urgent construction issues.
At present, the work on the territory improvement is in full swing. The specialists are installing lighting poles, concreting the territory, which was delayed due to bad weather conditions (rain), as well as arranging lawns and flower beds.  The construction of a place for vehicles that will bring grain to the terminal is in its final stage.
Meanwhile, the company’s specialists together with the specialists of equipment suppliers carry out installation of equipment and adjustment works of the technological equipment, which will ensure work of the whole enterprise.
The offices and workplaces in the terminal’s administrative and laboratory building and cafeteria are ready. And the agrarians, who had visited the branch, had a meal in the cafeteria.
“Estimated cost of the project, which will start receiving grain form agricultural producers at the end of June, is already more than USD 23 million. During the construction period, a large amount of excavation work was carried out here and it was complicated by precipitation. However, this did not affect the final term of the work and there were no delays from builders. Therefore, within the specified period, a fully automated transshipment terminal equipped with the most modern devices for round-the-clock work will be put into operation. It will receive grain from farmers of not only Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, but also Kharkiv region”, said NIBULON’s General Director.
The solemn opening of the terminal is scheduled for the beginning of July. All participants of the construction process will be invited.
“Given the close location of “Ternivska” branch to agricultural producers, they will not have to carry grain for hundreds of kilometers through Zaporizhzhia, through dam of the hydroelectric power plant to the transshipment terminals in Bilenke and Kamianka-Dniprovska, as well as to the port cities (300-400 km)”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
After the production meeting with the builders, NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy also visited one of the meetings with agricultural producers, which took place at “Ternivska” branch with the participation of the company’s specialists during June 18-19. In addition to the prospects and advantages of cooperating with NIBULON’s facilities, the guests received information on agreements, purchase, payment, and also heard answers to all the questions they were interested in. In particular, in a warm and friendly conversation with Oleksiy Opanasovych, as an agrarian with extensive experience both in life and in agriculture, the participants expressed their support for the company and its management. Knowing that in the history of our company there were difficult periods (threats of illegal takeovers, many unregulated inspections by the controlling bodies), the participants of the meeting asked Oleksiy Vadaturskyy how should farms survive in today’s conditions when there are so many illegal takeovers.
Zaporizhzhia region is the only region in Ukraine that will have three high-tech transshipment terminals on the Dnipro River. And all grain received will be transported by water transport to the company’s sea port in Mykolaiv. The increase in transportation of agricultural commodities by water transport is one of the priorities of our company’s activities. And the company has everything to this end, in particular its modern fleet, which is built at the company’s own shipbuilding yard. Thanks to the development of river logistics, NIBULON not only removes thousands of trucks from Ukrainian roads, but also significantly reduces transportation costs; and this allows the company to offer agrarians fair market prices for agricultural products.
The company has already dredged about 2 km of the Ploska Osokorivka River, which will ensure the approach of vessels to the transshipment terminal’s cargo berth. Over 12 km of the approach canal have been equipped with navigation aids. At present, operational water area of the facility is being dredged.
As regards the influence of river terminals on the development of navigation in the country, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy noted that the capacity of the facility allowed receiving 300 thousand tons of grain per year. If all this is divided by the permissible load of truck (24 tons), more than 12.5 thousand trucks will be removed from the regional roads. Thus, we redirect all our cargo to water transport. Almost 30 % of the gross grain harvest will be transported by river transport. Agrarians will not want to transfer their products through Melitopol, Kakhovka, Kherson, and Mykolaiv to the ports of Odessa, because we offer favorable conditions for the delivery of grain to our enterprises.
The company’s head also told about social projects, which are already being implemented in the territory of the settlement. Due to NIBULON, the specialists are laying asphalt concrete covering on rural roads with a total area of more than 21 thousand m2 (about 4 km), as well as covering the rest of the roads with slag. In addition, an agreement has already been signed with a contracting organization to replace the roof of a local school. The company will also repair a house of culture with an adjacent sports complex, bring the village center to the proper condition at its own expense.
“In two weeks you will not recognize the village”, proudly said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
The construction of such a high-capacity facility in Ternivka, which will become the most effective one among NIBULON’s existing transshipment terminals in Zaporizhzhia region, became possible due to Kostiantyn Bryl, head of Zaporizhzhia region, regional council, district and settlement councils. They created all the appropriate conditions for the construction of a high-capacity agrarian enterprise in a short period of time, which will provide work for about 120 persons, mainly local residents and residents of neighboring villages. It will also contribute more than UAH 5 million in taxes to the local budget, which certainly contribute to the development of infrastructure of the settlement.
