For several days the delegation familiarized itself with the work of the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service of Ukraine and its regional offices, visited the State Scientific and Research Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics, Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise, and held meetings with exporters, producers, surveyors, and entities involved in formation of export batches of grain.
The delegation accompanied by representatives of the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service of Ukraine and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) visited the transshipment terminal and shipbuilding and repair yard of NIBULON, the biggest domestic supplier of agricultural products to Egypt. The terminal’s production and technological laboratory that is equipped with modern laboratory and research equipment for determining quality indices and research activities with grain and its products attracted attention of the specialists in plant quarantine and control of Egypt. Due to this equipment and highly skilled specialists, the laboratory has an opportunity to perform the whole range of researches required to complete contracts.
“We were pleasantly surprised by everything we have seen today starting with the equipped laboratory and the company’s facilities and ending with professionalism of the laboratory assistants and all employees both of the transshipment terminal and the shipbuilding yard, who are fully committed to their job. It’s a great experience for us. We will try to learn and adapt in Egypt the level of progress NIBULON has achieved. The advanced level of quality control inspires confidence in cargoes NIBULON exports to Egypt”, shared her impressions Head of Central Administration of Plant Quarantine of Egypt Dr. Naglaa Moussa Balabel.
In turn, Manager of the General Organization of Import and Export Control (Egypt) Dalia Shehab Al Dine added, “Our organization is interested in joint trainings, workshops for Egyptian specialists both at the production and technological laboratory of NIBULON’s transshipment terminal and in Egypt”.
It should be noted that the company already has such experience of training foreign laboratory assistants. Thus, the company also invited representatives of the leading surveyor organizations, specialists of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine to the process of training. Foreign specialists undergo practical training with NIBULON’s ones, consider the basic requirements for product quality, and decide how to unify them. The main objective of the exchange programs is to adapt regional quality standards to international ones.
During a meeting that was held with the participation of Deputy General Director for Interaction with Public Authorities Volodymyr Klymenko and NIBULON’s specialists, representatives of the delegation, who were impressed by NIBULON’s development strategy and activity, inquired about possibility of implementation of a project on grain cultivation in Egypt using knowledge, experience, and know-how of the leader of Ukrainian agrarian market.
“Several years ago NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy met with the Minister of Agriculture of Egypt and management of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Cairo. During the meeting it was discussed the issue of cooperation between NIBULON and Egypt not only in terms of cultivation of grain, but also in terms of construction of elevators along the Nile River, river dredging , and construction of non-self-propelled vessels to transport goods by water”, answered the question Volodymyr Klymenko.
Representatives of the Egyptian delegation also voiced a hope that trade relations between Ukraine and Egypt will develop due to NIBULON, and the existing trade balance will be exceeded in a few years.
At the end of the meeting the delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt thanked the management of NIBULON for a warm reception and thoroughly planned event, “We were pleased to be here. It’s immediately obvious that you treated this meeting with special responsibility. We also paid attention to commitment of NIBULON’s employees to ideals of the company, their patriotism. Even the employees’ eyes show how much they cared about what they do and how they are faithful to interests of the company. In our opinion, transparency of the company is the key to success. Every company should strive for this”.
Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) also thanked NIBULON for hospitality and presentation of its production facilities in Mykolaiv.
We would remind you that according to the results of the 2015/16 MY, Egypt is the largest consumer of agricultural products exported by NIBULON (share of exports – 18.6 %).
