Last week, there was held a production meeting at the construction site in Bilenke village. It was chaired by NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, with the participation of Serhii Besedin, deputy general director of construction, Svitlana Zachepylo, a village head, Alla Kryshtal, a deputy village head, the company’s specialists, and heads of contracting organizations.
First of all, the participants of the meeting examined a complex of treatment facilities built by NIBULON for water treatment, which is discharged into the Dnipro River after it has been used. The locals have waited for over 26 years for these facilities; in the absence of the facilities, there was an everyday threat of environmental disaster. The fact is that the history of its construction dates back to 1992. During this period of time the problem wasn’t solved. The project of sewage facilities has been changed several times; the purchased building materials and equipment have been repeatedly stolen. The problem was solved after appointment of Kostiantyn Bryl as the Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration. It took him less than a year to resolve many issues, resulting in improvement of the investment climate in the region. NIBULON took responsibility for full funding and support of this socially important project as its additional social obligations. NIBULON’s specialists initiated changes to the wastewater treatment technology, replacing it with closed and more progressive one; this will improve the environmental situation in the district and improve the convenience of the facilities adjacent to the treatment facilities, namely schools, hospitals, and the facilities of the village in general. At the beginning of April, the complex which the company built in a month, having invested UAH 10 million, will be transferred into ownership of the local community for continuous operation with the participation of Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Kostiantyn Bryl.
During the traditional inspection of the building site Oleksiy Vadaturskyy noted that there were more than 20 contracting organizations, but their number would grow each week. In May, there will be about 1.5 thousand builders from 90 organizations at the construction site, including suppliers of equipment. It should also be mentioned that, first of all, the company employs local organizations. We invite other contractors from different regions of Ukraine to perform operations the builders from Zaporizhzhia cannot perform.
“We primarily employ the organizations from Zaporizhzhia region, and other works are being performed by our reliable organizations which move with us around the country; these are our reliable partners who have built tens of facilities with us”, noted NIBULON’s General Director.
The builders are performing excavation works and finishing formation of pile fields for foundations of basic technological facilities of the terminal. According to NIBULON’s specialists, it is much easier to ram piles here, as compared to the construction site in Hola Prystan, where we join 3 piles because of specifics of soil. The piling machines ram piles in a tier. Thus, the piling machines have to ram all piles and leave the construction site by March 29.
Some contractors have already started to construct foundations of grain storages, a weighing station, and a headhouse. Metalware and fitting are being prepared to be assembled. The vehicles transport the necessary building materials and tons of stone screening dust to the construction site one by one.
The builders have started constructing a canteen, a fire station, and a workshop. The work is facilitated for them due to the fact that the given facilities will be located on the site of old warehouses; thus, there is no need to carry up walls. The planks out of the buildings and about 800 roofing slates will be distributed to people who need it the most, primarily to pensioners.
By April 20, we have to lay down road surface with vibration-resistant materials from the village center to the facility and a special site for trucks that will start storing equipment from global leading suppliers almost in a month.
“We are working at a fast pace and will finish general construction works on May 20. We need 7-10 days for pre-commissioning works; so, we’ll put this facility into operation at the beginning of June. However, it will depend on weather conditions; that is why some changes are possible”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
The newly built transshipment terminal in Bilenke will employ about 120 persons and significantly reduce the expenses of agricultural producers of the region for transportation of their commodity, and remove 12.5 thousand trucks per year from the roads. In addition, NIBULON’s facility will have a positive impact on legalization of the Ukrainian grain market.
“We are interested in the procedure so individuals could trade their commodity legally, without middlemen. We have an agreement with the Regional Administration, we’ll help, explain so that agrarians could sell grain legally. We, in turn, will pay taxes to the local budget. Everyone will benefit. We support transparent and legitimate business”, said NIBULON’s General Director.
We would remind you that NIBULON is constructing its high-capacity terminal in Zaporizhzhia region for money allocated by the European Investment Bank, which allocated EUR 71 million to the company at the end of last year, without any state guarantees. As part of this cooperation, the agricultural company is reconstructing its shipbuilding and repair yard in Mykolaiv and constructing new cargo vessels. Thus, the company’s fleet numbers 56 units. NIBULON’s shipbuilders will have launched 3 more tugs by June 1. The shipyard will build up to 15 vessels per year upon completion of reconstruction and modernization. According to Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, this will be one of the best shipbuilding yards not only in Ukraine but also in Europe.
