Energy occupies a specific place in our life. Today it is impossible to imagine person’s life without energy either in everyday life or in production.
“We bring light and heat to people”, tells Yuriy Tyagunov, NIBULON’s chief powerman. “A lot of important tasks are set before our department every day. We must not only ensure uninterrupted heat supply and energy supply, but also control power consumption, implement innovations to reduce expenses. As for me, use of energy saving technologies, allowing to reduce consumption of expensive energy resources, is the main direction to develop energy nowadays. Consequently, our specialists are oriented towards search, research and use of energy saving technologies at NIBULON’s branches.
NIBULON is not a novice at solving energy saving problem. In 2011 the company was acknowledged by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a winner in the Ukrainian Energy Efficiency Programme (UKEEP) in the nomination “Project with the largest energy efficiency”. An investment in the amount of USD 15 million allows to save about 10 million cubic meters of natural gas that is about USD 3 million per year. Gas saving allows to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 18 thousand tons per year that is equal to the annual amount of emissions of 8 thousand cars. Thus, energy saving also has nature conservation effect.
“We constantly improve our professional level and implement innovations”, tells Andriy Nertyk, a power engineer. “The main task of our department is to reduce expenses for energy resources provided that the required amount and quality are kept. Thus, for example, currently we are developing a perspective direction of modern energy – implementation of LED-based lighting at NIBULON’s branches. It is more efficient, safer and more practical. According to our calculations, it allows to reduce power consumption in 6-8 times”.
Andriy Nertyk is sure that he chose his job by vocation, “It is an interesting and serious job. I like to create something new from design to assembly. For the past 5 years NIBULON has built 13 elevators and transshipment terminals in seven regions of Ukraine. At each of these facilities there were laid about 3500 m of gas pipeline of medium and low pressure, 100 km of electric network, and there were installed more than 70 lighting supports! These are the results of our work”.
Dina Yuzhanina is responsible for timely providing with necessary and qualitative electrotechnical materials and equipment to the powermen, “It is impossible to imagine our life without energy. I am proud that our job is of great value for operation of a network of NIBULON’s branches all over Ukraine”.
Safe electricity use is ensured by NIBULON’s own electrotechnical laboratory, “Our laboratory conducts test and measurement in order to check power system condition in whole”, tells Igor Yuzhaninov, a head of the laboratory. “Our team consists of real specialists with higher vocational education and wide-ranging experience”.
According to Igor Yuzhaninov, a real powerman must be not only disciplined and responsible, but also sociable, have analytical abilities and technical thinking, know electrical equipment operating rules and necessary normative documents, “Unfortunately, it is not easy to find a highly-qualified specialist at present. As you know future belongs to energy; thus, I am sure that more and more young people will be choosing this job”.
