In 2014/15 MY, NIBULON Group handled and shipped for export more than 4.2 million tons of grains and oilseeds according to the bills of landing and about 4.1 million tons according to the customs declarations, i.e. an official statistics of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (the difference will be depicted in July 2015/16 MY), out of which more than 1.1 million tons were handled (transshipped) in the outer roads of Mykolayiv Sea Port. The company involved 113 cargo foreign going vessels to transport cargo to foreign ports. An average shipload comprised 31.2 thousand tons.
There is a tendency on the domestic export market. Thus, in 2007/08 MY, NIBULON Group’s share in total exports comprised 20,5 % of the total amount, or more than 977 thousand tons. In 2014/15 MY, the company’s exports reached about 4.1 million tons, and NIBULON Group’s share reduced to 10,6 % of the total amount. These changes were caused by increasing competitiveness on the Ukrainian export market. According to APK-Inform Media Group, from 2007/08 MY till 2014/15 MY, the number of foreign economic entities that export grains and oilseeds increased 3,5 times as many – from 374 to 1,346 companies; in 2014/15 MY – 29,5 % as opposed to 2013/14 MY, or 307 companies.
Fluctuations in the Ukrainian national currency rate resulted in a sharp increase of exporters. Aiming to reduce loss risks caused by currency rate fluctuations, the agricultural producers are searching for an opportunity to acquire foreign currency by selling grain, i.e. to become entities of foreign economic activity. NIBULON Group is of use to them. By the company’s activities in 2014/15 MY, the grain share of third-party companies in Group’s total exports comprised 31% – more than a two-times increase as opposed to 2013/14 MY, when the grain share of third-party companies comprised only 13 %. Please note that in the first quarter of 2015 the share of third-party companies in NIBULON Group’s total exports reached 38%.
According to the Ports of Ukraine, NIBULON’s main export terminal in Mykolayiv city entered the top three Ukrainian stevedoring companies by its cargo turnover figure in 2014, having been second only to TIC Group (Yuzhne town) and Brooklyn-Kyiv Ltd. (Odesa city). Thus, the company has left behind other 34 competitors and demonstrated one of the highest coefficients of a one-time storage capacity turnover – 30 turnovers per year. By the way, the river capacity of NIBULON’s transhipment terminal (Mykolayiv city) is 6.5 million tons, says the Ports of Ukraine editorial staff.
In addition, NIBULON has been purposefully investing considerable funds in the reviving and development of the Ukrainian river logistics. In 2014/15 MY, NIBULON’s shipping company rendered services on transportation and delivery of grain crops by waterways in Ukraine as well as loading and unloading operations in the outer roads of Mykolayiv Sea Port in the total amount of more than 89 thousand tons.
