Construction of a network of modern high-tech transshipment terminals is a key component of innovation investment project of “NIBULON” for the revival of the Dnipro and the Southern Bug Rivers as shipping transportation water ways of Ukraine. During the construction of terminals and berths in particular, the problem of wash-out of operational waters and approach channels for possible arrival for loading of the company’s non-self-propelled vessels arises. “NIBULON” is the leader in everything, including the technical equipment of production. Thus the company has concluded a contract to purchase a new modern dredger to solve problems of silting up and inconsistencies of waterways deep of Ukraine and to ensure high-performance process, as well as to improve ecological situation around “NIBULON’s” enterprises. It was supplied by the company «Aquamec Oy» (Syakula, Finland). The contract at a cost of over half a million Euro involves purchasing milling dredger “Watermaster Classic IV” and its contract supervision. «Watermaster Classic IV» is a multifunctional machine, mounted on pontoons. It comes complete with backward 500-liter bucket, rake and cutting suction dredger. Moving by water takes place at a speed of about 4 knots (7.4 km per hour) using its own propulsion device, and by land – with a help of outside dipper handle and rear stabilizers, which skew. The length of the machine is 11 m (without a boom) and 16 m (with a boom), weight – 18.5 tons, transport height and width compile 3.15 m and 3.3 m respectively, the maximum depth of work under water – 5.3 m (backward bucket) and 6.3 m (cutting suction dredger). Machine frame is solid, divided into 7 watertight compartments, includes corrosion-resistant coating on the outside and inside, and two protective bearers on the bottom. Modern cabin has protection from falling objects, ergonomic seating, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Engine Caterpillar C7 is a 6-cylinder diesel engine with turbocharger and water cooling. Its power is 2000 rounds per minute. Hydraulic component is axial-piston pump for dredging and propeller, performance of which is 95 cubic centimeters per rotation. Maximum productive efficiency of dredger (depending on the category of soil) – 60-100 cubic meters per hour. Dredger meets international standards: quality ISO9001 and environmental safety ISO14001. Thus for “NIBULON» technology «Watermaster» means the following: – versatility and environmental friendliness while conducting various engineering works; – development of soils in all categories; – performance of the full set of hydraulic work (dredging work, suction of soil, driving sheeting planks, wooden pillars and metal pipes); – efficient use of water in different environments: rivers, lakes, canals and other water bodies; – development of underwater trenches for laying pipelines and cables; – usage for sluice of dams, dikes, beaches. It is important that the dredge is completely autonomous and independent in work, because: – it provides input and output of water independently, without cranes and other aids, movement occurs through its own motor system; – anchoring is done without the use of winches and cables; – prompt transportation to the platform from one facility to another is possible. November 30, 2011 dredge was delivered to the transshipment terminal of “NIBULON” in Mykolayiv. Over the next 17 working days contract supervision «Watermaster Classic IV» will be held, which includes: – starting-up in test mode; – adjustment of characteristic; – ramp-up to a stable operating mode; – presentment of equipment to representatives of “NIBULON”; – training of the company’s experts to work with equipment in various modes; – putting the dredger into operation. Active running of dredger will be started after completion of the work – along the Dnipro River and its river-beds, the Southern Bug River and other waterways of Ukraine, which will greatly facilitate further implementation of the company’s investment project. In particular, «Watermaster Classic IV» will be used to clean the operating water ways and approach channels of: – already existing transshipment terminals of “NIBULON” branches – “Novoodes’ka”, “Gradyz`k”, “Kremenchuk”, “Kamyanka-Dniprovs’ka”, “Vitove”; – future terminals, construction of which is planned (particularly in Pereyaslav-Kmel’nyts’kyy and Stayky village of Kyiv region, Kozats’ke village of Kherson region, Voznesens’k vilage of Mykolayiv region, Bilen’ke village of Zaporizhzhya region).
