From Luxembourg to the Hague: NIBULON had Meetings with a Number of Financial Partners that Invest in the Economy of Ukraine

NIBULON successfully continues to implement its ambitious investment project. NIBULON’s good results are achieved due to many factors, namely due to the strategic vision of the management, well-coordinated work of like-minded people, professionalism and experience of specialists, many years of hard work. And most importantly, we would not have been a successful company without support of reliable partners. NIBULON’s strategic partners are leading international financial institutions, such as the European Investment Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Recently, we have told you about a USD 50 million loan to NIBULON allocated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as about a warm meeting of two long-standing partners NIBULON and FENDT in Bavaria.
This week, NIBULON has had negotiations with the leading representatives of the European banking system. On February 26, the management of NIBULON met with the European Investment Bank headed by Vice-President Vazil Hudák in Luxembourg.
“It is always nice to see the eyes of business partners who appreciate our cooperation, who are satisfied with our cooperation, as well as with the fact that their money works for the benefit of the company and Ukraine as a whole. This is what I saw in the eyes of our EIB partners. It was the first bank to allocate a loan to our Ukrainian company without any guarantees from the state or European banks, but only under NIBULON’s financial obligations”, said NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
Signing of a USD 74 million loan agreement between the EIB and NIBULON to develop and upgrade the logistics infrastructure of Ukraine took place at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels on December 19, 2016. These days, the partners have met in a warm and friendly atmosphere to discuss the current state of the investment program implementation and plans for future cooperation.
“We were pleased to report on what was done by NIBULON in 2017, and we did a lot”. As Oleksiy Vadaturskyy said, the bank’s representatives are very satisfied with the status and progress of NIBULON’s project implementation. “We also talked about the investment projects NIBULON plans to implement by June 1, 2018, as well as about prospects for the development of our company. After all, if such partners begin to cooperate, they really become strategic ones. Such cooperation does not end with a usual signing of loan agreement and its repayment. This cooperation determines and stimulates further development of the company. This cooperation changes the image of company itself and the image of the entire Ukraine. We talked about our plans and offered very interesting projects for further development of the company in Ukraine and beyond. We also said about the challenges that are hampering the creation of favorable infrastructure conditions in our country. Unfortunately, we don’t see the desire of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine to work for Ukraine and for its people. Despite all the obstacles on the part of the Ministry and some of its officials and thanks to support of the heads of the regions and cities, as well as thanks to support of the community, our company successfully revives the Dnipro River, invests in the economy of the regions of Ukraine. This is an absolute merit of such reliable partners as the EIB. Therefore, NIBULON is very grateful to the bank for such comprehensive support and the opportunity to openly discuss those pressing problems that hamper the development of Ukraine’s economy”.
NIBULON’s representatives met with a large EIB team working on the company’s project. About ten representatives of the bank came to a meeting with the Ukrainian company.
For NIBULON, this week doesn’t end with the meeting with the EIB management in Luxembourg.  We will have constructive negotiations and many pleasant meetings with well-known banks, namely with Credit Agricole S.A. and Natixis in Paris (France), with Arab Bank, ING, BIC-BRED, ВСР, BNP, UBS in Geneva (Switzerland), with Rabobank in Utrecht, and with FMO, ATB, ABN in the Hague (the Netherlands).
“This is a very busy program. NIBULON as always has something to report on to its business partners. There are positive results and confidence in further cooperation, which means that our company will definitely reach new heights making a great contribution to the development of our country’s economy, investing in Ukraine and strengthening our position in the world”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
According to him, this week’s program is difficult, but very interesting. The peculiarity is that we have 5-6 important meetings every day. The members of the company’s delegation are constantly moving from one European country to another. They even joke that the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning is “What country are you in today?” NIBULON’s management is used to work in such an intensive rhythm. The company carries out its activities both in Ukraine and beyond. This is the basis of new achievements. You can expect only positive things from such a company, because NIBULON has ambitious plans, reliable partners and respect of both ordinary people and well-known companies.  We can overcome all problems and obstacles by common efforts and can make Ukraine a truly European country.

It should be noted that last year NIBULON constructed two transshipment terminals on the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, plus an elevator complex in Svatove town (Luhansk region). Thanks to this, 1,500 builders were provided with job; in total, 300 jobs were created. The company continues to implement its shipbuilding program. It modernized NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, in particular it put a new workshop with an automatic line for metal cleaning and priming and a metal processing workshop with plasma cutting and gas cutting machines, as well as an assembly and fabrication workshop with modern equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers into operation.
The large-scale reconstruction of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, which is possible due to support of the EIB, brings it to a completely new level. Upon its completion, NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard will be the most modern plant in Ukraine and one of the best shipyards in Europe. NIBULON has completed the first stage of the slipway reconstruction. This enables the shipbuilders to launch 100-m vessels, and to launch and perform maintenance of 140-m vessels in the future. The B5000 project vessel will be the first 100-m vessel to be launched from the slipway in the coming days. The vessel was also built using money allocated by the EIB.
As part of cooperation with the EIB, the company continues to reconstruct NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, as well as to construct two multipurpose Т3500 project tugs and non-self-propelled B5000 project vessels. In addition, the company also plans to construct two more transshipment terminals on the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
