“Globyns’ka” Branch: NIBULON’s Investment Project Started Here

In May 2009 Igor Ryabokon came back to Ukraine from the USA. The chief engineer of “Kolosivs’kyy elevator” went to the USA in order to study American farmers’ experience in corn cultivation to improve corn production technology in Ukraine. Six specialists of NIBULON went together with him. The issue to improve quality of Ukrainian corn and to improve methods of quick grain drying was topical at that time. NIBULON started its unique investment project. The company set a goal that seemed impossible at first. NIBULON planned to revive Dnipro traffic center and to make Ukraine one of the leaders of the international grain market. A visit to the USA increased their confidence in necessity to construct new modern elevator facilities and to improve logistic infrastructure in our country. Ukraine’s image on the international market was at stake – ability of the Ukrainian farmers to ensure appropriate quality of cultivated grain and to meet the requirements of foreign partners as to product quality. Igor Ryabokon came to Ukraine knowing that within several months NIBULON would start construction of the first three modern elevator complexes in Poltava and Cherkasy regions and he would be at the head of one of Poltava elevators.   In 2008-2009 Ukraine’s economy was influenced by the world financial and economic crisis. At that time Oleksandr Naboka worked for one of Poltava banks. The banking sector felt all the crisis effects: staff reduction, workload increase, instability. Commencement of NIBULON’s investment project in Poltava region became good fortune for Oleksandr. In Oktober 2009 he started to work for “Globyns’ka” branch as an economist. In six months he was advanced to the chief economist. Oleksandr Nabokov has been working for NIBULON for three years and became a real professional, though he mentions that he still studies “Here we constantly study, gain new experience and knowledge. We tend to use progressive things. For example, at the beginning of 2013 there has been implemented a new system to analyze the elevator’s economic activity developed by the specialists of the company’s central office. At present all the elevators use the new system to determine expenses, prime cost, and other indices”.   The company’s progressive approach affected life of Globyno district. In the town there was created a modern park with a play area before opening of the elevator. The company provided assistance in creation of a memorial to Ivan Globa, the founder of the town. The memorial beautifies a square near the state administration. During the elevator’s operation the company constantly provides financial assistance in organization of local holidays, children’s summer health camps, purchase of furniture and toys for kindergartens, heating installation for the church. In 2012 the company signed a social partnership agreement with Globyno town council and allocated UAH 30 000 for repair of asphalt surface in Geroyi Krasnodony and Voskova Streets.   Globyno became a native town for many NIBULON’s employees who came to work from different parts of Ukraine. Inna Bryzhak studied in Vinnytsya National Agrarian University when Larysa Buryk, NIBULON’s deputy director of personnel, attended a job fair at the University. Inna was impressed by a story about NIBULON that did not discharge people but hired recent graduates during financial crisis in Ukraine, implemented the investment program, and was engaged in charitable activity. Having visited the transshipment terminal in Mykolayiv city together with her fellow students Inna was sure that she wanted to work for NIBULON. Coming to work at “Globyns’ka” branch during the elevator construction Inna Bryzhak adopted NIBULON’s team spirit completely. At the age of 24 Inna became a deputy chief accountant of the branch – a swift career progress for a young specialist. Viktor Lymar, a specialist with ten years of experience, was not able to find a job in Globyno town where his family lived. At that time Viktor worked in Kremenchuk town. On seeing the new facility construction he realized that there were changes for the better for the whole town and for him personally. Today Viktor is a chief engineer of the branch. He says he is proud of working here: the best material and technical basis, high level of labour organization, deserved and stable wage. Thus, the average wage by the branch has increased by 33% for the past three years. 22 employees have received assistance in the amount of UAH 27000 for this period. “Our team is a family”, says Igor Ryabokon, “Globyns’ka” branch director, “I value my workers for their professionalism and friendliness. Every year we hire recent graduates who improve their knowledge in the process of work, gain experience and hold leading positions at other branches. In particular, a chief engineer and a chief foreman of the branch became directors, 2 mechanical engineers are chief engineers, and a laboratory engineer is a head of the production and technological laboratory”.   The employees have a lot to be proud of. Today it is one of the best elevators in the region that operates according to the high European standards like other NIBULON’s elevators. In September 2012 there took place an important event in the elevator’s life. The branch was visited by the EBRD Board of Directors. The guests familiarized themselves with the elevator’s production facilities, observed technological equipment, the laboratory where they were able to watch the process of grain analyses (from sampling to analysis of quality indices). “Entering the elevator we realized that it is the high-tech facility which is characterized by a high level of energy efficiency”, stressed Peter Basch, the Director for the EU. May 22 is an important date for our branch. “Globyns’ka” branch celebrates 4 years since its foundation. NIBULON and General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy congratulate the elevator’s staff on the anniversary. We wish you development, self-improvement and new achievements. Together we will revive Ukraine’s agrarian sector.
