At present the majority of specialists consider agriculture to be a motive force and the future of Ukraine’s economy. Every day NIBULON contributes to the development of its native agro-industrial complex. Who stands in the forefront of agro-industrial complex and what specialists assess the prospects of Ukraine’s agricultural sector?
Are we able to implement our childhood dreams? When Oleksandr Tereschenko, a seventh former of ordinary village school, wrote a composition about his future profession, his goals were quite adult, “I dreamt to be an agronomist and then a collective farm director”, smiles Oleksandr. For 13 years of work at NIBULON he has managed to become not only a talented agronomist, but also a director of one of the best NIBULON’s production branches. This year there has happened other important event in the professional career of Oleksandr Tereschenko; he was appointed NIBULON’s regional director of agricultural production. All goals seem to have been achieved. But according to Oleksandr, he is faced more serious tasks, “The land is a gold mine of Ukraine’s economy. In agricultural production the land acts as a subject and means of labour. Such specific peculiarity makes us, workers of the agrarian sector, use this natural wealth reasonably. Our task is to ensure use of the land as efficient as possible, achieving high harvest and the best quality”.
“NIBULON is a locomotive of Ukraine’s agriculture”, thinks Andriy Syrovatko, a regional director, “Agrarian sector, as for me, is the most perspective sector for Ukraine. This is the very sector Ukraine can be a leader in. In order to reach this goal, this sector requires real specialists. The main quality of an agricultural worker is non-indifference. You must do everything possible, and do it neither today nor tomorrow but yesterday! Delays are not allowed in agriculture”.
Yakiv Pinchuk, a head of NIBULON’s production department and agronomist by specialty, says, “Today among Ukrainian farmers we can meet musicians, teachers, drivers, but there are few agrarian specialists. I think that a real specialist must work on the rich Ukrainian land. I grew up in the village of Zaporizhzhya region, among endless fields; thus, I had the opportunity to observe a grain grower labour. When I was a child I took an interest in agriculture and studied at technical secondary school and then went to the university. After graduating from the university I got a job at NIBULON where I was able to improve my knowledge in practice while working at one of the company’s production branches”.
“If you want only comfort and easy labour, then this profession is not for you”, adds Oleksandr Tereschenko, “As agriculture is not a work, it is a way of life. Everyday you have to work on the field, to predict and overcome natural obstacles from which even the most experienced agronomist is not secured. Most of young people, probably, dream of other things but they shouldn’t! The future of Ukraine’s economy depends on agriculture. I have been working in the agricultural sector for 13 years, and I see only progress. NIBULON plays a great role in it. It is pleasant to realize that today other agricultural companies follow NIBULON’s example and use new technologies and improve standards of agricultural commodity quality”.
Oleksandr Tereschenko has a lot to be proud of. During his management RE “Lidiyivs’ke” branch took the leading positions among NIBULON’s branches, “Despite unfavourable weather conditions of 2007 our team managed to grow wheat of up to 80 dt/ha on separate fields! Such a result was unique for the South of Ukraine”. And at present RE “Lidiyivs’ke” branch holds its leadership positions. Vasyl Filimonov, a chief agronomist of the branch, tells that this year the branch demonstrates leadership in harvesting of early grain crops among the company’s branches in the southern region.
How does NIBULON manage to demonstrate high results of crop growing annually? Vasyl  Filimonov explains, “I, as an agronomist, see how other companies work: if there is this year’s harvest; thus, funds are invested in sowing campaign. Absence of funds means absence of investment. It is wrong, as the land can give more harvest year by year. NIBULON’s advantage consists in stability, constant care for the land cultivated by the branches. The company has its own unique logistics infrastructure that allows to control agricultural commodity quality from a field to a port”.
His words are confirmed by Kostyantyn Khmelnytskyy, NIBULON’s deputy general director of agricultural production, “Our strong points are excellent quality, use of progressive technologies, implementation of new crops according to the requirements of the world market, export opportunities of the company, our unique logistics infrastructure. All these factors allow NIBULON to keep its leadership positions during 22 years, demonstrating progress and development to many Ukrainian agricultural producers. The work of our powerful team of agrarians gives inspiration to achieve future victories”.
According to Kostyantyn Khmelnytskyy, he often communicates with many foreign colleagues, the company’s production branches are visited by agrarian specialists from all over the world. They note high achievements of the company in crop production technology, “In order to increase professionalism and adoption of the world experience, our specialists regularly undergo training both in Ukraine and abroad. It allows us to be pioneers in the implementation of high standards of agricultural commodity quality”.
Oleksandr Gaiday, a regional director of production, visited countries of Europe, America, and Asia several times, adopting the best practices of the agrarian world leaders,
“In June 2013 I visited Great Britain in order to become familiar with the European experience to grow winter rape hybrid. I communicated with British agricultural producers who were inspired by our company and our elevator capacities of 1.7 million tons of simultaneous grain storage. I know that our unique elevator infrastructure is a great advantage. Ukraine tries to get higher harvest, but NIBULON is one of a few companies that are engaged in the issue as to qualitative harvest storage and its export. Modern machinery, plant protection technologies, non-indifferent attitude to the Ukrainian village are things that make our company leader in Ukraine’s agrarian sector”.
“We would like more young people to work in the agricultural sector”, thinks NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, “We make everything in order to enhance the prestige of the agrarian sector.  Due to highly-skilled professionals of our agricultural sector, Ukraine, as an agrarian country declaring itself to be a reliable source of food supply, will play greater role in the international markets.
