Today, approximately one in four people in Ukraine is over 60 years old. This age is traditionally considered the start of a «well-deserved rest» and retirement for Ukrainians. However, we at NIBULON are certain: if there is fire in the heart and the head is full of ideas ready for implementation, then 60, 65, or 70 are just numbers in the passport. And this has been proven by NIBULON’s employees themselves! In the new series, «Silver Team,» we will tell you about our colleagues, who possess valuable professional and life experience and knowledge, and are ready to share it with the younger generation.

The first publication is about Liudmyla Mekheda, the Lead Accountant of the Transaction Operations Unit, whom, we are sure, everyone in the company knows. Liudmyla joined NIBULON from the very first days of its establishment. Today, she is the only employee who has been working at NIBULON for such a long time.
For many NIBULON employees, Liudmyla is not just a wise mentor and advisor, but also a synonym for energy, positivity, ease, and calmness in any circumstances.
What is the secret? Liudmyla answers as follows:
“How you set your mind determines how you feel, regardless of age.
The world is changing very quickly, and new technologies are developing. If you don’t adapt, you will simply get stuck in place. You can always learn from young people, so you need to keep pace with the youth, stick with them. Personally, working in a young team keeps me in shape and doesn’t let me stop. I have always been lucky to work with smart, talented young specialists who wanted to learn and develop. I have mentored many of them, one might say ‘launched’ them into their professional journey. And they taught me the same way. Now I feel that I have a bright head, a sharp mind, and I have the desire and strength to work. I get great pleasure from work; it warms my heart that I can contribute to the valuable work of NIBULON. As long as I have the strength, I will work!”
And it’s not only her colleagues who keep her active, but her family as well.
“Twenty years ago our family suffered a tragedy — we lost our daughter. About a year later, my husband suggested adopting a child, and we ended up adopting two boys at once, both three years old. They were from different families and eight months apart. With them, I went through everything: sports clubs, dance classes, homework — all the stages! The eldest will soon be 20, the youngest 19, but just like back then, they still don’t let me relax!” – jokes Liudmyla.
It has been 12 years since Liudmyla became eligible to retire. However, reaching retirement age does not mean the automatic end of working life, and you can remain active at any age. And Liudmyla is a vivid example of this. That’s why we at NIBULON create all the conditions under which our older employees can work longer if they wish, while maintaining social activity and financial stability.
