Serhiy Kalkutin, NIBULON’s Deputy General Director of Logistics, Serhiy Besedin, Deputy General Director of Construction, Andriy Volik, Deputy General Director of Fleet Construction, Fleet Operation and Navigation Safety, and Kostiantyn Khmelnytskyi, Deputy General Director of Agricultural Production, participated in the meeting. The Swedish business delegation consisted of Oleksandr Mashynets, a Project Manager on Business and Trade Promotion of the Emassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, as well as of representatives from Swedish business offices in Ukraine, namely Atlas Copco (Tetiana Vakaliuk, a director, and Oleksiy Masliuk, the company’s representative), Tornum (Oleksandr Kholod, a director), Llentab (Kostiantyn Ivanov, a director, and Andriy Shutka, the company’s representative), Väderstad (Dmytro Troschynskyi and Oleksiy Tymoshenko, the company’s representatives), Scania (Oleksandr Tytskyi, a dealer network development director, and Oleksandr Shevchenko, the company’s representative). Firstly, the guests inspected NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard, a leader of the national shipbuilding, and the company’s sea transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv. During the excursion, NIBULON’s representatives explained NIBULON’s main operating principles and demonstrated the main production processes to the guests. They were impressed by the shipyard’s modernization and reconstruction, which had been achieved in the shortest possible time. The Ambassador was particularly impressed by the vessels built at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard. This is not a surprise, as these are modern vessels equipped with up-to-date equipment produced by the world’s best suppliers and designed in compliance with the leading technologies and approaches. Thus, the guests saw a Volvo excavator for dredging operations and Scania main engine and diesel generators, produced by renowned Swedish companies, which are installed on the unique Mykolaivets self-propelled dredging vessel (SDS-15 project) and the NIBULON-100 high-capacity tug (T3500 project).NIBULON always chooses the best companies with which to work. Consequently, the high-capacity Swedish equipment is installed on vessels, such as POSS-115, 121 and 121M projects pusher tugs, T410 project harbor pusher tugs, the Nibulonivets and Nibulonivets-2 non-self-propelled floating cranes, the specialized self-propelled GSH2000 project hopper barges, the St.Mykolai self-propelled floating crane, as well as on the NIBULON MAX 140-m self-propelled floating vessel, the largest vessel in the company’s fleet. Please note that NIBULON started to work with the leading Swedish producers 15 years ago when the company first purchased Volvo loaders for its transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv. The company has also purchased these loaders for its facilities located across Ukraine. For example, the shipyard’s machine-tool fleet consists of two ESAB plasma cutting machines. NIBULON’s laboratories are equipped with Foss Analytical AB grain analyzers, falling number devices, and Perten Instrument laboratory mills. The modern truck fleet consists of Volvo and Scania new high-capacity trucks. The guests were impressed not only by NIBULON’s production activities, but also by its social responsibility. The Ambassador also acknowledged the company’s initiative to fight COVID-19 when NIBULON helped to organize COVID-19 diagnostics, having given its own equipment to the Mykolaiv Regional Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine. At present the laboratory conducts 80% of tests in the region on the company’s equipment. This meeting was fruitful for both parties. In addition to a valuable excursion, the representatives discussed several issues to develop cooperation between the companies. The participants paid particular attention to the issues of cooperation between Sweden and Ukraine. Having highlighted the development of the strong and successful Ukraine and its economic growth, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy said, “NIBULON is the first Ukrainian company to sign an agreement with the EIB for a loan of USD 74 million under the company’s obligations to develop the logistics infrastructure in Ukraine. This means that the company is trusted. The leading financial institutions see the company’s activities and new achievements. Ukraine needs more companies like NIBULON to develop its economy. These companies require support from the international communities. The company appreciates its cooperation with Sweden. New opportunities for cooperation promote the development of both parties. I completely stand for this opportunity, but the parties’ efforts must be consolidated.” At the end of the meeting the Ambassador of Sweden, Tobias Thyberg, thanked his hosts for the meeting and noted that it was important for Sweden to be a partner for NIBULON and Ukraine. He also hoped to expand the level of cooperation, “We want Ukraine to be a successful country. It is good that NIBULON is such a strong company. Companies like NIBULON deserve to be supported at the state level. Your plans and views aim at developing the country, and we share your views. This is our aim as well. I am grateful that Sweden is a part of your success and I wish your company further development.”
