Difficult economic and political situation in Ukraine, lack of knowledge and experience contribute to the increase of questions having no answers. Thus, speaking to the mass media representatives during a briefing, Oleksiy Vadaturskyy relying on his rich life and work experience aimed at helping community to find answers.
Today, despite everything, NIBULON continues to work efficiently, to develop and achieve successes in different types of its activities,
“We have carried out a number of efficient measures that allowed us to work efficiently and not to loose trust from banks in this current situation. Our company is supported by such serious international financial institutions as the EBRD, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation and others. Within the next few days the company plans to launch its first tug at the shipbuilding and repair yard “NIBULON” that has marked the beginning of the program to construct vessels at NIBULON’s shipyard. We constantly continue to help medical institutions of the city: our company has presented MykolayivRegionalHospital with unique equipment that will ensure diagnostics and efficient treatment of many diseases”.
 NIBULON actively participates in the organization of Mykolayiv defence and ensuring of peaceful life. In particular, National Guard and Ukraine’s Armed Forces are constantly provided with financial assistance. Eighty workers of NIBULON are the participants of round-the-clock duties in order to ensure security in the city. NIBULON provides them and other 200 patriots, active participants of self-defence, with financial support. Machinery, protection means, equipment of roadblocks are ensured by NIBULON.
NIBULON did not stand aside the tragedy that had happened to the inhabitants in Lazurna Street. They have received financial assistance in the amount of about UAH 500 thousand.
At present people often name any businessman or any rich person an oligarch. They try to label Oleksiy Vadaturskyy, but he does not agree with it completely having his own objective reasons.
Who is an oligarch? Oligarchs are not just businessmen or rich people, but they are high-ranking officials who use monopolized by them economy sectors to concentrate political power into their own hands in order to increase their own capital. This means there are no oligarchs without political domination. And NIBULON does not have any representative in any bodies of power: either in the city bodies of power or in the district, regional and central bodies of power. “This does not correspond to the company’s policy: we have never been engaged in it and are not going to be”, explains Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
During the whole period of activity, since 1991 NIBULON has never received additional benefits, financing or other guarantees from the country. The company has never participated in the state property privatization as opposed to those oligarchs who took part in the privatization processes and increased their own fortune by using their political influence.
“I lead a simple way of life; I am open for communication; I do not have any planes and helicopters, yachts and villas abroad. Mykolayiv, Ukraine, is a place where I live and work. 25 thousand lessors, 5 thousand employees of the company and 15 thousand members of their   families are connected with NIBULON. At present I am upset being positioned as an oligarch groundlessly”, mentioned NIBULON’s General Director.
Moreover, sometimes NIBULON has to stand against interests of oligarchs, financial and industrial groups, defending state and social needs, values. An example of the marine economic complex is model here. Everybody is familiar with the problem of the DniproRiver dredging which has national value. Oleksiy Vadaturskyy said that he was ready to allocate USD 2 million for financing of this project. NIBULON is ready to conduct dredging of the DniproRiver for three months on partnership relations with the country provided that the latter will return money to NIBULON within 3 years. Such position of Oleksiy Vadaturskyy is quite logical taken into consideration that not only NIBULON, but also all Ukrainians will use new navigation conditions of the DniproRiver. Those financial and industrial groups that control the Ministry of Infrastructure are not interested in solving this problem. We observe such situation with the Southern BugRiver. Now USD 10 million are required to make this river navigable, where from Voznesensk to Mykolayiv there will sail passenger hydrofoils to be built by NIBULON at its own shipbuilding and repair yard, to transport construction materials and to release highways finally. But this question is still unsolved.
Another interesting example is that the vessels entering the waterway of the sea port “Mykolayiv” have to pay unprecedented port dues; this makes ship entry one of the most expensive in the world. These funds would be enough not only to dredge the Dnipro and the Southern BugRivers, but also to implement a lot of other projects to develop marine and economic sector of our region. However, these funds become a source to finance competitive ports in Odesa, Ilichivsk cities and others. Last year SE “Delta-Pilot” spent the funds received from such companies to organize EuroBasket.
“Today it is not enough to change heads of the ministries”, stressed Oleksiy Vadaturskyy. “It is necessary to replace the staff with new people who do not serve different industrial and financial groups, who will care about Ukraine’s image and development of its economy. It concerns every sector. Our company has been struggling against oligarchic groups for a long time. We do not want to struggle; we want economy to work according to other principles in future”.
According to NIBULON’s General Director, Petro Poroshenko who has visited NIBULON and met with its team recently is a like-minded person in this issue, “A lot of common things unite our companies for years of activities. Petro Poroshenko’s father is a Hero of Ukraine, a manager of the agrarian company. We have become partners in the shipbuilding too. When making a decision where to place an order to cut metal for construction of our new vessels, there were discussed possible variants both in Mykolayiv city, Dnipropetrovsk and Sevastopol. But the most favourable terms were suggested by the plant “Leninska Kuznya” owned by Petro Poroshenko. Thus, today we are engaged in developing shipbuilding in Mykolayiv city. Besides, I have found out that our companies are financed by the same banks. And serious financial institutions do not allocate funds to that business, where corruption schemes and shadow economy take place. I am sure that a person who has managed to create such a business can lead the country and raise our economy”, said Oleksiy Vadaturskyy.
According to him, the longer the election process is delayed, the higher the risk of new conflicts will be. That is why it is necessary to choose our President in the first round, on May 25,
“Today we must unite and come up for election so that your voice will not be used, so that declaration of intention will be honest, open and as objective as possible. I want Mykolayiv city to be stable and peaceful. I always stand for democracy and European values. But I am against democracy that ends with broken skulls and destroyed lives. Today we all must unite and protect interests of our community, ensure peace in our home. I call on all businessmen of the city not to stand aside and to help those who are in trouble today, who are ready to defend us”.
Oleksiy Vadaturskyy called on the regional authorities to be braver and more persistent in mobilization of the society to protect our region. He suggested average Mykolayiv citizens showing their patriotism by decorating their cars and houses with yellow and blue ribbons.
